Thank you John. That was very nice. And I really appreciated Grip Grips comments. There are alot of great people here. I agree with your comments on other areas of discussion too. One of the things that really bothers me the most about the alien stories is that not one of the people in positions of authority to dispense information ever really tell the truth. Ya just can't trust them when you've seen how they squirm in the stories they made up, then go backtracking and saying stuff that secondarily makes even less real sense, and then even worse, punish the folks who just might be telling the truth. Too bad really.

I'm really glad Grip posted such an interesting topic that while few in fact may have an interest in, the fact remains that by having that exchange enriches all of us who do find it so. I happen to be one of them. Thanks Grip. Love the off topic stuff.

 

Just so I understand all this and keep it into perspective. The government that can't keep a secret on anything has been keeping UFO's under wraps for over 60 years without one person spilling the beans and coming forward with concrete evidence. LMAO. May the force be with you young padawans.

BTW, the one thing I find particularly odd about Roswell, specifically that one, is that at the time that was THE premier SAC base the US had. Fully armed and ready, so records are quite well kept.

The base commanding general, a man who was disciplined and well understood the permissions granted up from the chain of command, announced that they had recovered an alien craft. In the spirit of the times, there was alot more honesty and openness. Due to his position and training, he simply HAD to have asked for and gotten the approval to release that info, so he did.

then all of a sudden it is retracted, not by him, but a lower ranking public speaker officer, that whoops, it was a weather balloon. Yet they had described a debris field left in the crash as being quite extensive. weather balloons don't do that.

All the records for that date and maybe 10 days later are gone. Really. They can't be found. But all the records before and after are there. Nobody loses the records for just that period from a nuclear attack base.

If it was an experimental craft of ours in the vicinity, he would have been informed it would be there, and if it went down, he certainly wouldn't have said it was an alien craft.

if it was an enemy's experimental craft, then they would have scrambled if they knew it was coming, and there is no record of that at all, but may be in the lost records, and if so they would have known it coming for sometime across the in between land. unless it had very esoteric stealth, and perhaps this is why he'd say that it was alien. However, if that be the case, that an aenemy was that far advanced to get all the way to Roswell, then why do we not see anything of that in enemy design after that? in fact, all of their advancements in aircraft from that time to the late 50's were thee result of reverse engineering OUR stuff. The korean war Mig was good, but basically a redesign of the F86.

then they got in too deep with their stories, and they could never let it out. And BTW, there have been a few who did say so, but they took care of those leaks by ridiculing them.

So while I agree with retired to a certain extent on the Gov't inability to keep anything that secret, i think this may have been one of them due to the serious nature, the integrity of people, especially the military people back then and the fear that might have been generated because of that. There's more to that story.

 

I visited the Alien Museum in Roswell, NM last month when I was working in the area. Very interested stuff to say the least.

 

Just good? The consensus is that it was better than the F86.
