Default Old age ambushed me

Well I had to buy some knee pads from the Snap-on tool guy for my knees a few months ago. I kneel constantly on a cement floor prepping cars for paint. It was/is so bad that when I kneel down I can barely stand up unless I grab hold of something.

Went to the Dr and had it checked with several X-rays. They told me I have mild arthrtis. Mild my butt! Its not constant but rather comes after I drive Nina for a bit or when I get out of bed. I have to use a cane now when I go out in case it kicks in. Thats OK cause I'm a knife nut and my canes are sword canes.

Just didnt think arthritis could hurt so freakin bad! My mom always had it and now I really feel sorry for her. No joke folks, this crap makes it so I can barely walk.

OK, I'm done being old...for now
Pooly

Hey Pooly I have the same infliction.......some days are worse than others and with the colder weather coming there's not much relief in sight.

Knee replacement surgery. Good for 20 years. Supposedly hurts like hell for 6-8 weeks though.

I was healthy as a horse till I turned 60. Nowadays I've got all you've got and a lot more......however.....every day above the grass is another day I've beat the grim reaper out of. Smile a lot, get good drugs from the doctor....and above all, "know your limitations."

Way to cheer a guy up Brian!

I guess once you get old enough the whole getting up thing goes to hell.

I too need support to get up. Err, I mean I need to grab a hold of something to help me stand up. Oh never mind!

I feel for you! I am very fortunate not to have those problems yet. I'm sure it'll hit me some day. I guess walking every day and hitting the gym 3 days a week seems to help me.

When I grow up, I want to be just like Lorne...other than needing to lose a few pounds in the next 4 months, I can live with the rest of it...or out live the rest of it...

I take a bath in Epsom Salt water everyday. Fixes everything except neurological issues. Very low cost, risk free. 1/2 cup does it. Magnesium is the drug and can't be patented. Gary

One of my hips bothers me. I ignore it during the day but sometimes at night it keeps me awake. No wonder advancing age makes people drink! It's nothing like what I imagined when younger. Come to think of it, it's better not knowing what's coming. And I'm not old yet!

Les

Every old geezer should have an Elaine to keep them hopping and the old folks homes would be empty.

Your only as old as (the woman) you feel.

Did wonders for a guy I worked with in the 90's. He cried and cried about it, for about three months... then was like a new man!

I've heard this from many folks before. Sounds like some thing we should all do.

Activity is what hurt my knees. I chased fly ***** in the outfield to help out our ladies softball team two summers ago and my knees hurt for 20 months. I still cannot run (jog) more than 20 yards, but I can walk all day without much problem.

My daughter thinks it is hilarious when I have to climb stairs.
