Talking new member

Hi all

My name is Paul, I live in Poole Dorset (in England for anyone not living here) I bought my self a 2006 black crossfire convertible in July this year and have loved every minute of ownership .

The car has a half black half cream leather interior and cream door cards and dash, as far as I am aware there are not many like this .

The car has now covered 20,000 miles, she has every extra including sat nav and front and rear parking sensors.

The car has become the love of my life and is in outstanding condition (except for the last owner kerbed the drivers side rims a little) easy fix I know.

I am hoping for some details on how to improve the car from some of the oweners here and hopefully meeting some of you, I travel to the states at least once a year for holidays and have seen some outstanding looking crossfires.

So hello all and look forward to hearing from you

Paul

Hello Paul, Welcome to the forum. I learn something new about these cars all of the time. Are the parking sensors original equipment? I don't recall ever hearing about anyone having them.

Me neither, but I did once see a site where you could order a hole cutter for installing them ......

did some lookups : believe it or not, a kit is offered for the 2009 Dodge Nitro ( seems to be a SUV ) that has the SAME part numbers as listed in the options section of the Crossfire Parts Manual :

http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/...roduct=4321818

whoda known ...

( only $330 - I never park in a city, so makes no difference to me ..... )

Thank you all for all the welcome messages.

I would like to know what mods are out there to improve the power and handling of the car.

I am also trying to find a wind defuser that doesnt cost the earth, my wife keeps moaning her hair gets blown all over the place when we have the roof down (typical woman moaning about her hair and not enjoying the experiance)

I look forward to some helpfull information and will get some photos up shortly, still would like to know how many cars over here have the same interior colour as mine.

Some items for performance:
- Cold air intake - This will replace the OEM airbox and provide colder air for more power. You should see 5-10HP gain. I personally prefer Needswings (Performance auto parts & aftermarket auto accessories for your car, specializing SRT4, Crossfire SRT6, SLK32, C32 AMG, VR-4) configurations. Rob (owner) is a great guy to do business with.

- ECU tune - There are only a handful of respected companies that tune our cars properly. I personally prefer Eurocharged (www.eurocharged.com). They have treated me quite well and I have been impressed the results. You should see 20-30HP gain with a tune. Eurocharged can remotely tune your car over the internet as well.

I'm sure that others will chime in

For wind defusers, there are a couple of different companies out there. When I had my convertible, I used the King Penn Windrestrictor (www.windrestrictor.com). Their products works well and can be custom made with etchings and lighting. Others have used a full fabric one that goes across the back of both seats. Do a search on the forum and you should see plenty of information on this topic.

Welcome and congrats on the new roadster. Rob at Needswings is a great person to talk to about modding your car. He is a great guy and you will always get sound advice from him. Good luck with the modding, it can be great fun.
