Scotty's Classic cars and museum is about 40 miles from me. In fact the Bugatti replica with the checkerboards and memorabilia on it used to be my dad's car. Scotty's has done a pretty good job of fixing it up. That little car was a blast to drive. It og course had the Vee Dub engine and chassis. I learned to drive stick in this car. When we had it it was white with a red grille and wheels. I recognized it right away because of the spinner gas cap, 35 Ford wire wheels, and it's lack of rear fenders. My dad was a horrible welder, and the rear fenders would shake themselves free till we gave up putting them back on. I still couldn't say which hurt worse, the fender hitting your elbow, or the tire.

it's a replica, built in 1974, owned by my dad. But it was the family toy. we also had a shortened VW bus that could chase it's own tail, and do wheelies that would flatten the tailpipes.
