Why did you decide to go with GM truck motors? The L31 is only good for just over 190HP with the stock cam. The better version the L31R is good to 255hp has a roller cam and 4bolt mains. and Jegs has it for under $1900.00 The other motor you show is an LM7 5.3 truck engine with at most 285HP if you take that air cleaner off. It is not the LS327 that is good for up to 350HP, but like I said that's not what is in the photo, whats in the photo is a stock LM7 truck motor. None of these motors is ever going to see 400HP with a 650cfm carb. These are great motors for building a cruiser. But the weight is going to screw up your handling and I would stay away from any SRT6s if I were you. If you really paid over seven grand for one of these motors I hope it came with a nice truck.

Just saying

this engine is a 4 bolt main,1 piece rear seal.its good for 255 hp stock.not the 2 piece seal one.so with new heads, ported and polished, comp cam,x treme energy,.488 lift, aluminum rockers, higher compression up to 9.7:1,750 cfm carb, shorty headers, fully upgraded msd digital ignition and all top of the line cooling, high flow water pump and high hp radiator.i was shomn a finished one with 415 hp on the dyno.the torque starts at 330 ft.lbs so anyones guess on the out put. but it is a cruiser style car with all custom body work. i drive my own rig for living, when im not a lanlord.i cant aford all the tickets on my license, need it to make a living.ill see what the end result is on the dyno .my engine is the black one.took that pic in the garage.ill keep the build posted.but the 7 grand was for my trans and everything else, gauges, accesories and stuff.kinda stuff you could reuse on another motor. was suprised to see some of those deals on jegs.when i bought mine those where not there.summit and jegs where the first places i looked.i would have most deff went to Jegs first.will post later.

Hey guys. I'm neew to here but I have a few questions.
I'm getting a Chevy LM7 5.3 to go into my 04 crossfire. Just wondering what adaptations I will need and how difficult this will be. I'm no mechanic so I will be hiring a professional to do the swap. I just need to know what else besides the engine, e cu, mounts, and such I will need before this can happen. Any knowledge is appreciated.

A-hella-lot
Including the transmission, and do not go with a 3 speed unless you plan on cruising at 3,500 rpm.
Aftermarket ecu and harness to run motor in stand alone, redo complete dash, aftermarket gauges, ignition switch, pull screen and redo everything including hard wiring the door locks atlonend windows.
And if you pay someone to do it, you might atlonend well just go buy a new corvette.

lot of work and most of your accessories will not work without a lot of extra parts and money, I have two srt 6's with V8 installed in them and every thing works except the cruse control,, my signature black car is not for sale the graphite srt6 with stock 5.4 mercedes v8 from a sl55 (485hp at crank) is for sale. $25,000.00 obo it will be ready to drive home (turn Key) in June of this year. jim
NOTE: save yourself money and time and do it right use a mercedes engine and tranny or buy my car.

You have me confused with someone else, I do to much driving, 3 hrs on interstate 2 - 4 times a week, I want my cruise.
The cruise went out on my truck and it is driving my nutts.
Needs a clock spring and the actuator under hood, one of these days I will get the time.
Need to get my new driveshaft in my XFire.
