Thumbs down Death what a shame who are these people

Investigation: Aftermath Complaints

These people need to be in prison and company put out of business! Hard to believe that they are not

under State regulation they should be. I am going to file a complaint with ag office , senator, congressmen

and law enforcement not to refer these death trolls to any one .

This is a terrible thing but my question is what is so different between them and most funeral homes? No one says anything when a funeral is over $15,000. The business of illness and death is insanely expensive.

Sorry about that! I'm usually not that quick. I've just had recent experiences with this last year, My Father in Law did the cheapest thing and had it allready set up so that he wouldn't spend the kind of cash his dad did 10 years earlier. He didn't see the sense in it. He went the spread the ashes route.

Larry, we lost our 34 year old daughter after 10 years of 24/7 care for her brain damage here at home in July of 09. The creamation route was just a few dollars lower than the direct burial route and all her friends and our families wanted the burial route. She was 100% total care, incapable of talking. If you remember the terry schavio case a few years back, our Linda was that way EXCEPT that Linda was 100% cognitive. She was trapped in her twisted body unable to talk, communicate, 100% bedridden, 100% total care. We did this for 10 years (from age 24 to 34) and she must have thought it was a burden but of course we never thought that. Anyway, the funeral home was 'nice' enough to let us make payments over a period of time (I'm on military pension, nothing else coming in) without any interest but it was quite an awakening, this 'profession'. Quite the experience, funerals and burying...

Sorry to hear about your daughter, my sincere condolences. I believe that my father in laws cremation including all of the requred certificates and everything else was around 2500 ( in Florida). His dads in 1990 was close to 25000. The Coast Guard Auxilliary provided a great burial at sea ceremony as is their custom for their members. They were outstanding in their treatment of the family - our many thanks to them.

+1 on the CG, awsome organization! We had to foot Linda's entire bill, she was uninsurable. Not to mention, with all her bills they would have snatched any insurance $ even if she was insurable. Anyway, 14K out of pocket is quite the expense and we are grateful they let us make payments... OMG what if we defaulted, would they have repossessed? OMG... LOL!

So sorry about your loss.

A funeral home at least give you choices and options and sticks with the agreed upon price as for as i know. You can go with the Neptune society for cremation they pick up and all for about 1600 dollars this is the way the wife and i are going. Also the military will provide services for husband and wife at little to know cost. Here in Texas u do not have to be embalmed.

drain my blood and use me for a crash dummy..... funeral homes are a rip off for sure... That cleaning company is too....but, I have to tell ya....not many companies will clean up after a death like that... I have seen a few in my time that were pretty nasty... Shot guns are messy....

I saw the story on the news Monday night...it made my blood boil. In my line of work, I've worked with bio-hazard clean-up companies and found their prices to be outrageous! The hazardous material handling industry is out of control with their prices.

With government mandates on how it is to be done and disposed of these places must feel that they are the only game in town. And in some instances they very well might be so they charge what they want but the switch hitting is wrong.
