Default Explain your forum nickname

Since I restore and own some old cars as well as the Xfires, I frequently visit on other forums and the TR6 (6-pack forum) had a super thread which really was interesting and had a large number of subscribers so I thought it might interest this group too.

So here goes. My screen name is Hawk Monster. I have owned, trained and breed Dobermans for over 35 years and this was my best friend of all the Dobes I have owned and trained. I believe he could read my mind.

Used to baby sit a friends daughter and she could not say my name "Collette", it always came out "Coolaide". Kinda of stuck and even my kids and husband called me that after a while. 71? A girl never tells her age...

Was given this name back in the Bulletin Board days (google it..lol).. Sysops I hung with came up with it after my purchase in November 1990. Yahoo mail has lots of variants.. but there's only one original.. LOL.

In 2008 we bought two 2008 Crossfire Coupes for a total of $42,000. Both were brand new with all of the warranties intact. Mine is a Red 6 speed stick and Cathy's is a Gold 5 speed auto.

I do consider them a 'Cheap Ride' as you cannot do that well anywhere that I am aware of. We really enjoy our rides and always use one of them for visiting our children in the Seattle area.

Neither car has ever had a problem.

Jim

Mine was my college LAN ID... When I joined the forums, it was mainly to lurk and daydream about owning one of these. Therefore, not a lot of clever thought was put into the name, as I wasn't planning on staying long. As luck would have it, this is the forum I bonded most with and it led to me purchasing a Crossfire once my income allowed. Years later, I'm still sticking around...

Believe it or not, mine is the same thing. Was the UniqueID given to me when I was a freshman. It stuck with me for a lot of things, and now I just keep using it because a lot of people know it on many different forums.

...it is a mix of last name and first/middle initial.

About 20 years ago, I was driving my MGB on Lake Cook Rd near Deerfield, Illinois and a blue Mercedes Kompressor went by me that had the plates on it that said "IBLUBYU". Stuck with me ever since ..... tried to get my license plates recently, but it was not available. So I just have the nickname, "I BLEW BY YOU"....

Figured since it took me about 20 years to aquire a 1970 Triumph GT6 from a faimily member I would likely never sell it and I wanted a name that would not become obsolete.
Still have it over ten years later... still working on it...and still have never driven it.
1970 - 13,000 miles on the body, now has a built SBC, vet 6spd and rear end. Maybe some day I will finish it.

The first forum I joined was for motorcycles... I wanted to think of a name quick. I live in Austin and I was riding a BMW1150GS. Sold the GS to a friend but kept the name.
