Default Empty Nester-again!

Well, the boy just started his 1,000 mile trip to Atlantic, Iowa to start his new job.

One has conflicting emotions at times like this. Reminds me of when I left for the USAF...in 1975! I was 17, and he's 24, but still a little kid at heart. He'll be working for a very good friend of mine and AJ knows him. He says he'll "do me proud".

C'est la vie.

Hey max, when you said 'again', I thought you meant he came home then left again for points out there! BTW, I went into the AF at 17 (delayed enlistment signed up Oct 71 right after B day and was called in Feb 72) as well. Young, dumb, and full of co........nflicting emotions and ideas. Quite a story, kinda sad, funny, scarey, and memorable. So, if your at the dragon this year, lets meet, say HI and we can share a couple of stories.

If I can make it up there, it'll be a 4 AM departure and late-night return-just like last time. I'll be tryin'!

I feel you pain and it is not pleasant. I have one son in N.C. and the other just moved to Az. Neither son has any desire to ever move back to Florida and I can't blame them.

Hi Max !!
Congratulations ( I guess ) on the empty nest.
Just got back from the car show in Woodland, barely beat the rain.....
Won second place 'cars post 1960', got beat out by a truly gorgeous yeller '08 Camero.
Guy next to me with a '10 Mustang was pissed, told him that this time 'cute' beat out 'pretty'.

I was asked at least 3 times why I replaced the Chrysler engine with a Mercedes one .......
