I chose to drive my girlfriend's Rav4 to work today instead of going water skiing with the Crossfire

acrispy1 posted on FB that they lost power 2 hours ago and he couldn't get their generator to work. It's going to be a long night or possibly days. Be safe our NE Xfire friends!

Lost power last night about 8:30pm. Luckily I have a generator. Runs my whole house pretty well -- I have heat, TV, internet etc. I hope the duration of the outage isn't too long. I only have enough gas for about 15 more hours, but I should be able to get some more later this afternoon if necessary. We've faired well. The destruction on the coastal areas is amazing. I hope others are safe.

Stay safe everyone, and do not fear - we have sent all our power company guys up to help out ( as well as several other states ), so maybe the power will be back soon for those that lost it.

That was one hell of a storm! I live about a mile from the bay in the middle of a semi-swampy area. I only need some siding and a window replaced along with a pump to drain 2 feet of water from the basement after the sump gave out. I thank God and good planning (mostly God) that I'm here checking in.
