Any advice on how to make the headlights appear like the original factory condition?

 

3M or Meguier's Headlight restoration kit.

 

I use meguiers headlight resto kit and it seems to work alright. They worked wonders on my grandfathers headlights but within a month or two they were oxidized again.

 

you could use a little brake fluid,,,do not get it on your paint, don't tape off the finder or bumper as the tape will hold the brake fluid if any gets on the paint wipe off and wash now. but BF does work.

 

Best thing I've found is Rain-X restoration kit.

I have used dupli color headlight restoration just gave them a light sanding then the cleaning kit then the clear spray it comes with it has been a month and look new.

 

Just today I used a Permatex Headlight Restoration Kit from Princess Auto on my son's Acura TSX. Kit has an arbour for your drill and two different wet grits and then you finish with a sponge polishing pad with their plastic polish. Took an hour for both lights and they look like new.

 

I've used a combo of the 3M and Mother's restoration kits with great success.
