Beginning to wonder if my membership here is worth it. Anyone else feeling like this?
.
Yes, I do occasionally. Seems like I only come here now when I'm bored. You'd be missed if you disappeared. And how else are these youngsters going to learn w/o the wisdom of the elders, right?
I became a member almost 15 years ago because of my Crossfire and will remain as long as I have it. I don't check in as often as I use to, however it is a source to get information that I may need about the Crossfire. I've learned a lot from this forum and there may still be more to learn. I appreciate all that have contributed to this forum.
In a few weeks, I will have been here eleven years. I was young back then, still interested in finding "her" and getting married.
Two years later, I was married, divorced again - and had dismissed the idea of ever marrying again - but I did end up with a second Crossfire.
I joined a month before I bought my car back in 2007. As long as I have her, I will stay with the forum. It's a quick review of New Posts as I begin each day.
There are fewer posts that interest me as time goes on, since my main interest was in how-to repairs and upgrades that are becoming increasingly rare. I find myself still marveling over the generous knowledge sharing of many members. And the curating work by onehundred80 of the various repairs has been a godsend for the continued enjoyment of my car.
As a new member as of November of 2019 I will tell all what an asset this forum is to Crossfire owners. I purchased a 2005 SRT6 Roadster in November of 2019 ( 55,000 kms or 35,000 miles on it ) and was completely stock with the exception of the new 010 coolant pump for the supercharger. There are so many , shall we say quirks, with these cars that without this forum a lot of cars would be flower pots. Issues such as the RCM, extra ground cable, roadster trunk lockout mod, sticky key repair.... many of these repair can be done on this car by most folks with a little mechanical skill that would have otherwise disabled a lot of Crossfires. I have completed these repairs as well as a few others that hopefully will keep this thing on the road for a long time, without this forum and longtime members sharing their knowledge it would not have possible.... for that I thank you !!
( car has not been winter driven, took it out to get some pictures ) :-)
I have been registered here for fourteen years now and watched it for six months prior to that. In that time I have seen many come and many go, some with little knowledge, some clowns, some with a lot of knowledge and some extremely smart people, I hope I have learnt something from the creme of the crop.
I have seen people tell someone to buy this or that to solve their problem based on a guess, I never have told someone to waste their money, I leave that to the dealerships.
l have seen parts made that improve performance rushed to market for a quick profit, the design an manufacture of these parts were poor and improved somewhat with improved materials and design.
After 15 years the same questions are asked, many with little or know history given. This gets boring and answered mostly by new members, who sometimes give the wrong answer. Most answers are here already and can be found using SEARCH.
I believe any forum consists of the same habitat you are experiencing especially if you are a long time member & understandably it might get boring . Maybe if you still have interest in the subject , just don't frequent it as often .
I'm a veteran member of a forum that still holds my interest & similarly ignore a lot of things that are boring except for a few that are of interest .
Overall , forums such as this are very helpful & for that reason hopefully will stay healthy .

Reason: typo
My time here began in July 2007 just 4 months after buying my first Crossfire
I have been active here ever since and probably looked at the posts here every single day since the first day I found this forum.
My post count was noticed by the company "Internet Brands" who purchased this website in 2012
from its founder mightyjlr(CrossfireForum.org Founder 03-25-2003)
My high number post count led the new owners to ask me to be an administrator here and accepted the role in 2012 which is another reason I visit here daily.
This forum IMO is the "Bible' for Crossfire owners as I'm sure every possible known problem with our Crossfires has been shared here and discussed with how the problem was resolved.
Sure the same questions have been asked and answered in multiple threads and that is to be expected with a forum that has spanned 17 years with over 25,000 registered members since it began
Is it time to "Leave the Crossfire Forum" ?? Not for me but many over the years have faded away and that's the nature of a car forum
As for me I will remain active here until I no longer have a Crossfire and I cant imagine a day when I wont own one of these awesome and unique cars
Won’t be leaving anytime soon, I check in at least once a day. There’s still a couple of projects that are going on that I’m interested in to see the outcome.
I find it useful to see the fixes that others have brought forward and enjoying helping add a thought or two. Nice resource of info for problems also, Enjoy Woody
I to have though of just dropping out but as long as i have a crossfire i will learn something new and you George have given me some of those answers I have been building strip/street cars for the last 62 years, and when it comes to the crossfire every time something goes wrong with the crossfire (Not mine) we get answers,, maybe not right away, but we do soon, some time i can answer those questions . with two V8's and two srt6"s all on the drag strip, to date with all my crossfires i have been down the drag strip 3034 times with the fastest (my black V8) 10.55 at 132. ,,,rearends ,axles, driveshaft I can answer most questions
Now if you or I and others who know this car back and forth, drop out of sight WHO will guide the newbes or buy our cars when we do drop out.?,,, stick around George, your commits are welcome all the time. jim
As a new member I appreciate all of the insight I have gathered from this forum. I have already saved immeasurable frustration, time and money from repairs from mechanics who do not have a clue about the nuances of the car, including Chrysler dealerships. Thank you from keeping us from going astray. Don't leave, just check-in less often if that helps to ease your boredom.
Been around for a while now , check in about 2-3 times a week , I have back out of some FB pages after the Dragon last year ,because some stupid stuff was getting thick , but will always be around here !
