Default Nice Price or Crack Pipe

There is a car enthusiast website that has an area called "Nice Price or Crack Pipe". It references used cars of interest that are for sale on other sites like "Bring a Trailer" or Craigslist. Anyway, they describe the car, the general history of the model, and ask the members to respond if the asking price is a nice price, or is somone smoking a crack pipe.

I saw a new listing on ebay this morning and I thought immediately of crack pipe. A few hours later the seller dropped the price 60%. Wow what a deal.

What do you think?

I think someone with too much money in his/her wallet (or bank) will buy it. My 2008 manual is solid white with words on it, was the earlier years more fancy or is this a red herring? Anyway, download the free one on the site and all it'll take is a little button pushing and some time!

The numbers seem right, its just the decimal point is in the wrong location.

No worse than some of the asking prices for cars out there.

Another listing with what I think is a very high price. I believe the Needswings price was around $115 for a set when they had them. These are very rare and hard to get, so maybe someone will think it's worth it.

Couple things come to mind... 1 @ I have it and you want it so pay, & 2 @ There is a sucker born every minute. Take your pick...

These are no longer available as new old stock

I paid a similar amount for a new set from Italy 2 years ago

If its a case of “I gotta have it” then it’s a great deal because you get the pair.

lots of right side clear markers lights out there
ZERO driver side. This is the one (drivers side) that doesn’t exist, anywhere

you need the chromed tipped market lights for the clear lenses.

I see that there is already a bid and 5 days left. Some one really wants them.

I often read about items like these, on the forum. Highly sought after, when it’s located, what follows are all of the complaints about price. I’m sure this will be the case with these until they are sold. Once sold, we’ll see “oh crap I really wanted/need those.

If anyone out there really NEEDS these, it’s a great price
these are like the SRT CENTRE CAPS, BLOCK STYLE REAR DECK LID SRT-6 EMBLEM, OEM TIRN SIGNAL MIRRORS and ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS
you want it
you see it
You buy it
Or what we’ll see here on this forum, you snooze you loose.
These look 10000x better than the standard yellow lenses.

I know that Ali Ozgür who produces the double din kit, has spoken with me about producing aftermarket clear side markers and also even aftermarket headlights. I’m not saying this is happening right away but it’s definitely something he has set his sights on.

Thanks for reminding me about the faceplate

the double din Faceplate is another great example. I think I read $330 USD for the faceplate

Thats an amazing deal, I fabricated my own and I know it cost me way more than the 3D unit offered in this site in parts time and labour.

But if 20+ double din units faceplates have been sold I’ll be totally surprised.

Lots of “I really want one” but not as much “I actually bought it”

I have no tie into the faceplate but I know what a GREAT deal this is and if you are thinking of one you might want to strongly consider “executing buy now” on this item too

like the clear lenses, once they are no longer available.....
That’s when the complaining starts

Right you are when something is no longer available people have that regret. The key fob is definitely one that I’m sure everyone is kicking themselves in the butt for. Especially when they were around 160$ about two years ago. Same as you stated with the clear aide markers.

I know he’s hade quite a bit of success over on the Facebook Groups with people buying the double din kit. I haven’t asked him an exact total but hopefully it will go up as I know he put a lot of R&D and man hours into it. The double din kit is definitely a nice upgrade especially with all the new HU’s that are out now.

Having an after market headlight option would definitely be a winner, especially if it’s something that is upgraded and can have proper XenonHID, switch back signals, halos etc. Headlights with removable lenses that would have a removable seal is the goal. That way we wouldn’t have to tear into them and risk ruining a 400-800$ factory light would be great as well. I know I’d be on board for it. He’s definitely wanting to help the community with all the conversations we’ve had.

There’s also the other fella that has fit the newer Mustang style speedometer in the car, not sure if it’s something he’s mass producing but it’d be another nice upgrade.

Me personally I’d love to have a steering wheel with the audio controls. I have looked into the r171 steering wheel with its OEM harness and if it can fit with the aftermarket looms that go to the newer HU’s, I have no idea if it would work or not. I haven’t spent much time on it, just something that has popped in my head as of late.

For the most part, I have not regretted the Crossfire items I've purchased, even at times paying more than I feel they are worth. It's the rare items I passed on, and did not purchase, that I regret. 10 years ago, during the "Great Depresion", when I purchased my Crossfire Specialists tools with the cabinet from a Chrysler tech he also had for sale an aluminum clip board with a flip cover that had Crossfire hood type ribs, and the Crossfire name embossed or etched acrossed it. Having spent the money on the tools I thought I would pass on the clip board and pick one up later. Big mistake, as I've never seen another one. Do I need it? No, but I want one.

Remember the old saying, ‘he who dies with the most toys wins’.
I have only four Crossfire models, the Mega Motors 1/10 scale red RC model, the Sharper Image radio, a Motor Max 1/18 black model and a Motor Max 1/64 2004 silver model.

I thought that was "he who dies with the most tools wins". Maybe it's both.

Don't forget:
