Default Barrett-Jackson on TV

Why do I do this to myself? Did anyone else watch the Barrett-Jackson auction on TV for the last several days? It was on the History & FYI Channels. I'm just now catching up as I recorded everything.

Sheesh....there are always at least a dozen cars that I MUST have. Ultimately I realize I can't afford any of them or if I did have them....they wouldn't make me happy for long. Right? At least that's what my wife reminds me. None the less....whew, it always take me a few days to recover. Anyone else?

PS: And there was a Crossfire that crossed the action block last year.

Barrett-Jackson, to me, is like the Sears catalog of the 60's. Just tear the page off and use it (or like today, delete or turn the channel)... JUST KIDDING... LMAO! Anyway, the cars are nice to look at, nice to dream, but out of my and most ppl's reach.

What is sad is I have owned many of them in my lifetime and got rid of them before the became classics. I believe if I had kept them I would be at least a millionaire. You are right, most I kept less than a year because I got tired of them and wanted something else to play with. The one I regret selling most was my 1960 Corvette roadster with both removable hardtop and soft top. I couldn't afford to keep up the insurance.

What? You sound like man who knows his way around an outhouse?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by that. If you are inferring I am full of it, I assure you I have been working on and restoring cars my entire life and have no reason to exaggerate.

Whoops....I'm afraid you misunderstood. I take the blame, see I'm 71. I actually grew up next door to a neighbor who had an outhouse. And as kids we used it all the time. Back in the fifties and sixties ripping off a page in the sears catalog was a common occurrence in place of "toilet tissue"...at least in the country outhouses that were not uncommon in my neck of the woods. I assumed your Sears Catalog reference was that. I was not implying anything derogatory or inferring anything like it either. And just to max out this conversation.....guess where serious antique marble collectors go looking for hard to find specimens? Yep, sites of old outhouses where boys and their marbles were often parted from jean pockets when dropped to the floor. I've found a few myself.

Best,
Steve

If you used the Quote option we might be able to see who you are answering. I fail to see how anyone’s words could be taken as an insult by you, its all in your mind.

Hey, no problem...we're good!! And I just deleted the last B-J video from my DVR. My wife reminded me that we can't afford any of those cars.

Truth! I miss ALL of my 2-seaters.
Can't say the same for the station wagons and mini-vans.
