Just got my first photo intersection ticket last week. I was driving in Beverly Hills when i hit a quick YELLOW to RED LIGHT!!! Flash click... as I just entered the intersection! Anyone ever beat this type of traffic ticket! Please let me know if possible. Thanks

 

if they have a picture of your face your pretty much screwed. otherwise if they just have the back of the car and the license plate, you could always pull the "i leant the car to my friend".

 

Not necessarily true. If you answer the ticket you get in the mail, then you're screwed. If you ignore it you're okay until someone actually serves you with the ticket. Think about it, when you get a ticket from a cop, you sign for it and are making a promise to appear or take care of it. You have signed nothing holding you responsible that came to you in the mail. With tight budgets/lack of manpower in most large municipalities today, you would have to be having a very bad day if you got served in person for a misdemeanor traffic ticket. But then, they way they handle it in your area could be different.

If you do not pay it, the amount of the fine will increase dramatically, some where in the four hundred dollar range. They come after you as the owner, even if you were not driving the car you will be fined. Beverly Hills is very strict about their law enforcement! Good luck Danny boy.

 

NEXT TIME AND THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME THE WAY YOU DRIVE. me too. SMILE FOR ALL THE TIMES YOU GOT AWAY with it. go pay it.

 

Look I live in Germany, And if you have ever driven in Europe you will agree with me, it's better just to pay the fine and go about your business.

Thanks, I did find out about the lawsuit for these types of tickets, but my plan is to time this light compared to where I live and see how much difference there is for yellow lights! Pled that I'm from a different county!!! My car was right at the line of the intersection when it turned red!!! Impossible to stop, yet the camera clicks! Yellow doesn't mean stop, I was only going about 30-35 mph!

 

That won't matter Dan. We were in California several years ago with all the kids, just got off the plane, rented a car and were looking for the hotel. After we turned left at a light, a motorcycle cop stopped us and gave us a ticket for not stopping for the red light behind the white line at the intersection. The front end of the car must have been over it. Here, there are some traffic lights that have sensors and you HAVE to be over the line for it to know that a car is there and then the light will change, so we tried that as an excuse. Didn't fly. He said we weren't in MI. We couldn't come back for court because we live in MI and the plane fare would have been more than the ticket. I seem to remember that if we tried to do anything besides just pay it, My hubby would have had to go to traffic school. Cali Cops are meanies!

If you're turning left at the intersection you are suppose to wait at the line unless no one is in front of you! Was this the case? I was just cruising down the street when yellow red click!

 

My .02 is when there is a camera in the intersection (and they can be easily spotted), yellow means stop! hehe

After reading this info it will help. I believe the time elapsed from yellow to red to click to be less than 1 sec. I was at the line impossible to stop before click click!!! THANKS. Also the rear end collision info is worth reading for you yellow light stoppers! Careful you could be dead right!

I hope you're never dead right! I was almost rear ended at one of these camera intersection. Lucky no one was on my right as the b***h passed me.

 

I'm not really fond of slamming my brakes and have continued to run yellow lights in some occasions whenever I feel safe to proceed on it (as long as it's still yellow).

You just don't know how those stuff inside your car turns into missiles!

 

I got a $5 parking ticket. I got it for parking in more than one motorcycle in one car space...
I did not pay it.
One year later I got served and wound up paying $120.
Yes it is crap! But I would probably just pay it if it happened again.

 

there's no way to beat the ticket. i'm studying criminal justice, and will be a cop soon enough. so the most you can do is go to court and see if they will maybe, just maybe, drop it but its not going to happen.
