Crossfire Dash Cover
Living here in HOT sunny Florida, it is a no brainer that you need to protect your car's exterior with a good cover. You should also protect your interior dashboard with a cover. Most folks use a simple sun screen during the day. But parking in the sun for a few hours with a car cover on and sun-screen, the inside temperature can still easily go over 120 degrees. In searching for the perfect dashboard cover, I first decided to go with a Velour DashMat for about $55. The cover from DashMat came with all of the interior openings (AC vents) unbound. Just a bunch of raw cutouts in the material. I knew as soon as I saw this cover that it was going back in the box. For the price, this was a poor choice since it came with only two small tape strips, both located on the far drivers side. Nothing to secure the middle or the passengers side. Overall, not a good buy.
I later discovered the Sedona Suade cover from California Car Cover. For a little bit more money, this Sedona material looks a lot better in both fit and in overall workmanship. You sometimes do get what you pay for.

kldiet,
Could you please take a picture of the dash mat? The Sedona Suede version from California Car Cover looks like a quality piece. Let me know what you think of it.

I don't see why we would need a dash mat....they look tacky and the type of material our dashes are made out of seem to be pretty sturdy. Are you protecting it from discoloration? Peeling?
I've seen a number of posts regarding peeling. Not sure which part of the dash is peeling, but for those that live in very sunny and hot climates it might be a good idea.
Check out Dash designs in Tempe, Az. (dashdesigns.com). They made a dash cover for my mini when I got it in '02. Good stuff. I live in upstate NY were the sun doesn't shine too oftern....
so no need for a dash cover for my Xfi.
