Can't make any estimates yet as i don't have all the figures. Possibly be somewhere around $600-$800 complete plug and play given i can figure out door handle switches that don't disable the factory lock cylinder.

Maybe you responded before, but why not just put the lock cylinder on the passenger side? And for $10000000000, i will take 3. Ha ha

Just an idea, I have no idea if it's even possible... Why not have the the key fob to unlock the doors as usual, and either a card that fits in your wallet or something you can attach to your key chain that will inform the car you are in the vehicle?

The new Lincoln "spaceship" commercial... common spaceships dont need keys and either should the crossfire

Yeah we are trying to resolve the emerency back up plan. The main goal is to shoot for total keyless. the only thing i can come up with is put a drivers side handle on the passenger side to have a key hole over there.

We can definitely try that. The other thing I was thinking was getting the trunk switch out of an SLK and getting it keyed to match the crossfire and putting it behind the license plate. Running it on it's own electrical system with an isolator and backup battery and then tapping into the lock system at the pneumatic motor. We'd get two things out of this, no switch or anything hiding around the vehicle that bypasses all the security, and we have out KeylessGo.

ok wait, so why are you trying to change handles and ish... why not just tap into the automatic locks?

IE: Walk up to the car with the magic fob and it deactivates the auto locks, walk away and it activates them???

This keeps all the stock locks in case it stops working and will keep the security system in place.

Because doing that is kinda hokey. We want to do it so you walk up to the vehicle and activate the locks when you want to unlock the vehicle. I guess I've thought that was really the only way to do it. The last gen vettes did it the way you are talking about and they lock and unlock whenever you walking around your vehicle. If we id it like that, it would have to be a deal where it would only unlock if you were standing a foot from the car and I don't have the tools to make the wireless work that way. It needs to have a window which I figured 10-15 feet. It's a small enough window where you walk up, press the button and it unlocks but at a foot, it may not read it if its buried in a pocket with lots of other stuff. The inside one will read from about the edge of the door to the middle of the passenger seat and up to the dash but to be on the safe side, I said you'd have to have it in your right side pocket to ensure it works all the time, every time.

Whats everyones consensus about this. Do we just go the route where it automatically unlocks when you walk up to the car or keep going at it like we originally proposed?

Thanks

i wanted it where you walk 15 feet away and it locks but once you enter 15 feet it unlocks, and if you want the car to auto start just hit a button on the keyfob

walk up unlock, sit in press the mb start button a couple times for run and hold to start. walk away lock. i have to keep my keys in my left pocket though...(OCD). that might be the easiest way.

Not doing remote start. Too many legal ramifications. Sorry guys.

the main reason why id like it where the there is a proximity locking and unlocking is because then i dont have to change the driver side key on the door handle and if it didnt unlock by the time im up to the car i know the battery is either dead or the system is broken. and then i can unlock the door with the key. id like the car to look 100% stock but have the proximity features

Im pretty sure the price was already quoted by voyager...$10000000000. Proximity with no changes to door handle...and no remote start.
