Question Question about plug under passenger seat

Looking under passanger seat and found small square plug. Seems to be part of wiring harness, but nothing is hooked to it? Not sure if is part of audio or seat heater or ??? Seat heater works on this side so is not that. Didn't look under driver seat, might be one there too? What is it? Is it used for somethng important? Does it supply power to something?

Question Re: Question about plug under passenger seat

Seats are all working as they are supposed to.
This plug is on short pigtail and taped down as if for future use?

DO NOT PLUG IT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was part of the early sound deadening system Mercedes was trying to develop. It's actually part of the passenger seat ejection unit, a little known option considered for married men only.

Silly!

No, all seats work, everything seems fine. Just wanted to know what would have plugged in there, if anything. Seems like a plug on a seat like that would have some sort of purpose.

It might be for the european seats. The driver seats in the crossfire are 8 way seats and passenger is 4 way seats and its probably a plug for the european models and their 8 way seats.

Right hand drive models. Good thinking!

yours was taped down?

i have three connectors for each seat, and they were all plugged in. Two of them are held on with zip ties (thought it was odd) and one was a locking connector.

It's a waaste removal plug. Just take a poop in your car, pull up to a gas pump, uncork the plug and your poop magically finds its way to the gas station's grimey toilet. It's FDA, USDA and AARP approved.

I noticed the same thing last night on my 05 Limited Roadster. Seat moves fine, still, haven't checked the heater yet. Concerned because I noticed this after I got the rubber-glove treatment going through Canada Customs last night, coming back from the US. Idiots did a search for no reason, wouldn't let me watch as they went through the car, so I've been wondering if they did this while trying to cram their hands under the seats.

So I hope that somebody can confirm that this plug is a leftover and isn't supposed to be plugged into anything. I can't find a place where it would go, anyways. Really pissed off about this, in addition to how I was treated last night by a pack of power-hungry wannabe cops.

well, I was to about to vote with Ap, but I think the European right hand drive, 8 way power seat connections makes just slightly more sense than Ap's ejection seat...although a good idea....
