SRT6 interior color swap
Hi all,
I was looking at pictures of the different interior color options for the crossfire and I realized that I really liked the look of the tan/black interior found in N/A crossfires. Since the pieces are all the same (except for the seats and instrument cluster), how hard would it be to buy all the tan interior pieces and swap them with their respective black pieces in the SRT? i.e. the glove compartment, door handle trim, etc. The stick on crap you buy off ebay looks hideous and cheap to me, so that's not even an option. Has anyone ever thought about doing this? Would it be possible?

It wouldn't be very difficult if you're comfortable with disassembling your entire interior. My recommendation is to find on that is from an '05 or '06 as the '07 and '08 models have knee bolster airbags and the glovebox and driver side lower panel under the steering wheel are different.
Here is another option that you might want to consider. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...different.html
Looking at this picture, the only thing I see as being a problem is the steering wheel:

Everything else looks like you could easily remove and replace (and by easily I mean it can be done). I'd have no idea how to replace the steering wheel though... but maybe I could do the rest and it would be close enough. What color do you think would look great with the graphite metallic exterior color? Opinions wanted!

The NA Crossfire never offered a tan/black interior. There is two tone grey, Cedar (redish and gray) and an ivory/black (like in the Wikipedia picture)
The SRT6 interior comes in any color you like as long as the only color you like is charcoal. On my black SRT6 that was just too much "dark". The interior felt confining. If you were to "swap out" the other colored pieces, trying to order them from Chrysler would probably set you back the price of a new Crossfire. You could keep an eye on eBay for one that was totaled, but you never know exactly what you will get.
Even if you swap those pieces, your seats will still be all charcoal (albeit with the Alcantara inserts). As far as a light colored steering wheel, they get real dirty real fast.
I would suggest a good upholstery shop to change whatever you want or do something like I did and get in touch with a local Colorglo franchisee. They have the ability to dye the leather and use a special paint on the plastics. You can choose any color you want and it will take a day to do (they come to your home or shop). I liked the look of the Italian makes (specially Ferarri) use of "butterscotch" a very rich warm color that is a great contrast with the charcoal in the SRT6.

I even had them do the headliner, A pillars and trunk area. It has been six months and is still holding up very well. Cost should be around $1500 max.

I had the interior of my daughter's SRT changed to the cedar red. Kept the SRT seats the same but changed the door pads, center console and glove box. I have the steering wheel and airbag but have not changed them yet. It looks very natual for a black car. Most of the interior was bought on ebay. The dealer changed the center console under warranty and I talked them into doing it in the cedar.
I really like that Piano Black center stack. Very elegant. Me I'd go with a darker tan leather seat combo with black. I think it would be sharp on the white coupe. Or the black coupe too. The vanilla color was just to light for my taste, and the cedar too red.
I just had to take my steering wheel off to replace the turn signial. Its not hard at all. There are two torx bolts holding the airbag on and one hex bolt holding the steering wheel on. And you dont have to worry about marking it to get the splines right. There is a little line running through it so you can just line that up which makes much easier getting the steering wheel on straight.
Most cost effective is painting the interior. I've been in touch with Vipond Paints in Australia, I got this tip from Benzworld. SLK's have the same problem we do with flaking interior paint. Vipond sent me a brush out of their SLK interior paints. These match the factory colours and are waterbased, rubberized paints that have the same sheen as the original. Their brand is called Tautflex and it can be brushed or sprayed. Anthracite/charcoal appears to match our SRT interior. Price is $45 shipped for 250ml and I'm told that's enough to do the SLK dash and console 3x's. They also have paint that will adhere to rubber, in particular a silver that will match the Infinity radio *****. I've also been in touch Parasol here in Canada. They too provide interior paints and leather dyes and will custom blend colours. Parasol is well regarded by the local Jag and Merc and classic car restorers and boating communities. They also sell high end detailing products.
Hello.
I would also like to repaint some of my interior parts . I Have an SRT-6. Do you know which color matches the best.. I contacted the paint store and they responded with this message.
There are 5 different Anthracite matches (221, 211A, 878A, 815A, 881A.)
Thankyou Rob
