Talking Brushed Aluminum Dash Kit

Just ordered a 33-piece Real Brushed Aluminum dash kit from CarID today, can't wait to see how it looks.

Automatic, Full Kit, 33 Pcs. - 2004 Chrysler Crossfire Dash Kit

Just had to share my excitement with everyone, haha.

I had been contemplating doing a dash kit for a while, finally found one that was a true complete kit and came in real brushed aluminum instead of just simulated aluminum veneer. And it was an awesome price. Will post pics as soon as its installed.

The thing that turned me off with most of the kits that I have seen is that they are not not formed pieces that cover the sides of the original parts. Do you know if these do? To me, if they do not cover the entire OEM piece, they look like a cheap stick-on piece regardless of the quality. Here is a pic that shows what I am talking about.

Unfortunately, they are the stick-on variety, but that is one of a few reasons that I chose to go with the real brushed aluminum. Because the brushed aluminum is so thin it won't protrude above the stock surface very much at all, and the color of the brushed aluminum will be close enough to the stock silver plasticky crapola that it wil look much more natural and less like it is an aftermarket applique.

I love the look of the titanium/marble burl that one of the other members has on his car, but the dark color of the kit does clash a bit because you can see the sides of the stock pieces, as you pointed out.

Yeah, the brushed aluminum may blend in well enough to look good. I look forward to seeing them. I have thought a few times about sending my dash pieces to SRT SIX to have them done. They have several finishes available, and it looks pretty good.

Those hydrographics to look pretty damn sweet. I'm not a big fan of carbon fiber look, myself, but it is very well done. If only they had put a higher quality interior in our cars to start with, it wouldn't even be an issue. Oh well, can't win everything, I suppose.

I agree with you there..... For a 40 - 50K car, you would have thought that they would have put a little more richness into the dash treatment. I like some small accents in CF, but I think the whole dash would be overwhelming. I would have like to have seen someone that had it done in the brushed aluminum or the machined turned finish.

Well, as soon as I get the kit in I'll make sure to post some pics. I figure as I'm putting it on if I get to the point where some of the pieces might be too much, I can always just not put them on. I'm a big fan of brushed aluminum interiors in general, though, so I'm betting I'll be happy with it.
