Grip Grip,

Wonderful work! I do have a question or two as I have never done any fiberglass work at all and it's a bit unclear from the photos.

Did you use the original pillar cover as a template and then build up the new piece underneath as well as on top or did you keep the original pillar as a base? Kind of looks like you made a completely new part, but again, I'm new to any fiberglass work.

Also, it's too bad you could not copy the texture of the original pillar, that would have really made the part blend better. Yes, even with the pods.

Again, great work and thanks for sharing your labors with all of us!

Cheers!

Thanks.

I created a completely new pillar. The job would have been much easier if I'd just attached the pods to the stock pillar and applied filler.

To add texture, simply spay the primered pod with textured paint, and pant over it with the desired color. Pretty simple step if somone wants texture.

I plan to build one double gauge pod utilizing my stock pillar. I plan to post it up for sale if it doesn't violate any forum rules. Please stand by.

I'll do my best. I really doubt there will be much interest, so making one per month would probably put $75 in my pocket and help one XF owner out.

What are your thoughts on sending me your factory pillar as a core, and I create a double gauge pod for $175 shipped (unpainted and untextured) but fully prepped for both?

I honestly have no intention of making big money from this. If the forum rules permit, it will keep me busy and put $35-55 per pod in my pocket. I intend to have a local professional finish the pod after I prep it and only one pod order would be accepted at a time. If the first guy is happy, then I might try to tackle two orders at once.

Keep in mind, this would be a pod attached to a stock pillar, instead of a completely new fiberglass pod. Figerglass may be used, but not exclusively.

I really don't want to invest too much until I know you guys are actully happy with the product. At that time I'll look into stocking and buying the pillars. Thanks for the advice Steve. Are you going to post any photos of the new SLK, or did you pass on it?

I would be interested in this. Does the price include the gauges?

The A/F gauge and sensor is over $200 and the boost gauge around $75, so the answer is hell no.

Great work and a very good price. I have one of the original triple pods and yours looks as good at a better price. I think you will get a lot of orders. Good luck!

Thanks. If the gauge pod I ordered would have arrived today, I'd already be building another one.

Any photos of how/ where you tapped into the manifold for the boost gauge?

Hey Anthony, Awesome work, great job! Could you just do a single, and how much less if any? I'm using a PLX DM-100 OBDII, that does everything I want. Bob
