DIY Double Gauge Pod
Well, I'm too cheap to pay $300 for a used one, so I decided to build my own for under $100. I'm 60% done with the pod and I'll probably complete it tomorrow.
Here are some photos of the progression over the last 6 hours.

Update:
Final sanding is complete, so with any luck I'll be painting it this weekend and hopefully installing the gauges.

Thanks guys. Here are a few photos of it installed. I believe the gap in the front will be minimized when I secure it. Currently it's just setting in place, but it fits well enough that it's not going anywhere.

Great Job! I'm impressed. I was thinking of doing somethiing like that for a GPS pod. Your example is giving me an incentive to move forward with the project.

Thats fantastic!!! For real you pulled off something that was a real head scratcher for everyone for so long!!!
Wondering, did you glass over the pods too?
Oh, and a TV in your garage!?

Thanks for the nice comments. I didn't completely fiberglass over the pods, just around the base in an effort to securely attach it to the fiberglass pilar. "TV in the garage", you bet.
I like to listen/watch while I'm wrenching or washing the XF.

That looks GREAT! Keep up the good work. Please update with photos once you put the guages in. I'm guessing since you have an SRT, (lucky) you will have a boost and oil temp guage. I would love to have a set just becouse they look so cool. Maybe I could put a clock in one pod and tweeter speaker in the other
Same question here! I was about to go out this weekend with my spare pillar cover and beg the performance shops to let me open up their dual pillar pod packages to see which one was a closest fit to try to do something just like this.
If you could provide a manufacturer name and part number it would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, and great work!
