Two of the best and most subtle modifications I have ever seen. Congratulations, you should be really proud of them. What did you end up doing with your stock steering wheel? Mine is looking a little worn so if you are willing to part with it, shoot me a pm. Thanks

John it looks great, I'll get you some white electrical tape to cover up the ///AMG logo.

Thanks Mike! I still have my OE wheel on standby, it’s in great shape. Needs cleaning but I’ll take care of that for you. Shoot me an offer on what you think is a fair price in a PM and we’ll go from there.

That’s a Rudy question… way beyond my pay-grade. I was simply the wet-knuckle behind the wrench, and swapped some gauge components back and forth. Steve was my dash-demolition expert.

LOL Steve was actually supportive. He said if they’re looking that closely to smack ‘em anyway. And I’ll bring a roll of $5 bills to throw in your engine bay to even out the attention

Looking forward to it.

One other subtle thing that Rudy did is swap out the SLK needles for the Crossfire ones... it's that added splash of OEM in the middle of the upgrade that truly makes it look as if it was meant to be there.

Right now, at night the gauges are amber (factory color in the AMG). The ability to swap colors on the SLK gauges is nonexistent... the plastic itself is amber, not clear w/ green paint like the Crossfire gauge faces. So, I'll either eventually swap out all the center buttons for amber SLK ones, and retain the silver button caps, or just live with the amber gauges and green center stack... But the Benz cluster can not be made green. Honestly I prefer the amber, it looks "sportier"

It goes without saying that I owe him a handle of Tennessee's finest.

Really, really like that steering wheel. I agree with others in that the factory wheel just isn't up to par for this type of car. It's just too big.

Thanks bud. This one is fairly close in diameter, but the ratio of thickness/diamater is much better with the Startech wheel.

After living with it for a week, an unexpected bonus is the "re-introduction" of the new leather smell to my car. After 50,000+ miles of daily-driving, the car had developed a Crayola scent... now, it smells like a leather Crayola.

I'm still in love with his butterscotch interior... If I had an SRT I'd be seriously investigating that mod. The combination of the bi-color leather with the Alcantara is gorgeous.

I still have my amber MB switches from when I did my black console conversion. The spoiler button wouldn't work but that shouldn't be an issue for you :P Currently they are just holders for my silver buttons, be more then happy to send em over or I will prob be at fall dragon if your going. The biggest PITA is getting all the wires disconnected from the stock cluster.

LOL you're absolutely right, the spoiler button is a non-issue. Let me know the damage, I'd be happy to obtain those from you. Currently that's the only thing needed to tie the lighting together...

Well, then there's the radio... LOL

**EDIT**

Here's the color my gauges are now... I love it.

John, That new wheel looks so badass! The cluster looks pretty sweet too. Forgot just how "amber" the SLK cluster was. Excited to see the new mods in person at the dragon.

Take care
