Default Ashtray complete removal

My ash tray is broke and won't stay in when pushed in.

I'm wondering if there is any way to pull the entire drawer out of the console to replace it.

Thanks

Speaking of that thread, mine is broken and i would remove it but i don't have anything to put in it's spot...

Also i was thinkinng about disassembling it and taking out the spring out that keeps it pushed out. Any thoughts on that idea?

Seems like I have heard of somebody doing that, if you do not use it I do not see why that would be a bad idea? Just my two cents though. I rarely use mine, may have some plans for it in the future though!

Well when it worked properly i used it. Then one sad day it decided not to go back in it's home. I would rather it be in there, and i could probably still pull it out and push it in. I just don't like bumping my knee on it, and it makes the interior look broken...

I would post in the for-sale thread about wanting to buy one of these, someone may have a working one they have been pushing around in there garage! Also may be someone who has had the same problem and fixed it! There are some very mechanically inclined people here that may have tackled this already. I would also be interested in buying your broken one as a project if you find another! Let me know!
