Shift Knob Thread Pattern - 6 Speed
After reviewing several posts regarding shift **** replacements, I still have yet to find what the thread pattern is.
Does anyone know what the thread pattern is in a 6 speed?
Thanks,
Eric

I hand built my shift **** for my 6 speed, and I'm not sure as to what thread pattern you are refering to.
There is a retaining nut on the bottom of the OEM ****, but it does'nt thread onto the actual shifter shaft. You loosen that from the ****, and the **** pulls up and off from the shaft. Be careful of the leather boot.
Hope this helps, smallfry
Here's a link to when I did mine....I hope https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...hift-****.html
Well, I can't seem to get the link to work. If you go to the "Interior" page, and go to the #3 page in the history, about 1/2 way down you will see my post. Sorry, I'm not computer savvy....

So there is no threading on the bottom of our shift ***** eh?
I'm just trying to get a new shift **** and they sell them in like 6 or 7 different thread patterns, which is why I assumed ours was threaded. They are in no way a Crossfire specific company, but I thought it might work.
Guess not :c
Your **** looks great though, nice work and thanks for the info!

**** looks like this:

Comes in the sizes:
Threading:
8x1.25
8x1.5
10x1.25
10x1.5
12x1.25
12x1.5
Do you think I could make this work some how?
Thanks,
Eric

It's hard to tell from that photo, but, that looks to be a simple thread on type handle. That won't work with the six speeds, because of our lift up and over to get into reverse. There are NO threads on the end of the shaft to thread onto, sorry.
If you take a look at the left side of my sketch page, you can see my rendetion of the shifter shaft. The end of the shaft has two features, a double sided flat spot for the internal construction of the OEM handle (keeps the handle from twisting around the axis), the second feature is the retaining slot cut around the shaft towards the bottom (this is what the OEM tightning nut clamps into on the OEM handle), this is so you can lift the handle up/over into reverse.

Usually there is more information, or the word universal is used.
The one I bought came with several different sized inserts to use with multiple types of shafts, and it clearly displayed this. You may want to contact Momo to see...
