Default Instrument Cluster

Mine is good but the plastic is less than perfect. Any idea if I can transfer one from another SRT 6 with ease? Will my odometer read the same? What's an approximate cost for a used one in good condition? Let the warm temps bring on the interior work!

Are you describing just the clear plastic face plate?

That would be amazing, assuming a shell swap is possible. It would actually be perma-grin material. I'm willing to pay too.

It's definitely a separate piece. Problem is, you must disassemble EVERYTHING to get it swapped.

Oh, and I'm glad you bumped this because I completely forgot about this. I'll ask Steve tomorrow

+1. I have heard taking apart the dash in the Crossfire is extremely difficult. TimeZLord would be a good member to contact. He posted a DIY on changing the console led lights to obtain a different color and was planning to move on to the odometer cluster next - don't believe he has gotten to it yet.

I've disassembled the dash roughly four times, and it's no picnic. It's also no like rebuilding a transmission, either. I can definitely tell you some shortcuts... Biggest thing is KEEP UP WITH THE SCREWS. Twice, I reassembled the dash only to have a screw (yes, one) leftover and for the life of me, I swore everything was buttoned up properly. On the following disassembly, I found it. So, label them if you must... whatever keeps them straight. Work slowly, methodically, and don't be scared to bend a little plastic... the shroud around the instrument cluster is a b!tch to remove.

bhalbeck -- I will swing by Steve's tonight to check the cluster's clear plastic. I'm pretty sure it's the one from my spare set of Crossfire/AMG gauges, and the plastic was in outstanding shape. But, I also had two clusters floating around at one point so I'll definitely need to double check that for ya

He could probably use the headlight restoration kit with great success...

If it's cracked or gouged, you'll definitely need a replacement. If it's only marred/lightly scratched, the headlight restoration kit ($30) should work perfectly.

Used my 3M one. It's perfect now. Got the dash tear down badge too! Thanks for the grey idea.

Awesome!!! I'm stoked for you man, you're like me, can't look at an imperfection and simply leave it there, lol

I must have been tired looking at my grammar. It was a 3 hour job from start to finish, but it looks like it rolled off the assembly line now. Great idea once again. I'm getting my console touched up next.
