Default Cigarette lighter issue.

Well, so far this site, and everyone on it, has been very helpful in solving problems w/ my wife's new Xfire. I have a problem that I have searched all the Forums for and ,so far, have found nothing on, so....here goes...The cigarette lighter is non functional. I have checked all the fuses and all test out w/ a test light. Additionally, the glove box light doesn't work either so it appears that there may be a break in the wiring or an unplugged connector in the harness somewhere. Ideas ???

Can we assume that you have tried to find the power at the lighter with a meter, charger etc?
I guess I should use the PC term of 'Power Outlet'.

If the glove box light works with the key on, and the 'Power Outlet' does not, then you have a broken wire or a faulty/dirty 'Power Outlet' : they are common to the same fuse / power source.

( I know this because I tapped the power there for my Garmin )

I wired in a female 'Power Outlet' and connect to it behind the removable dash panel that has the air bag key .

If you have not fixed this problem yet, it is common for the spring contact inside the outlet to become compressed and not make good contact... mine did the same thing.... carefully pull/bend it back into the socket area so it makes good contact....
