I've had this same problem myself for many years. At first I thought it was coming from the glove box itself. But I couldn't pinpoint the problem. In the end, I just learnt to ignore it.

Replaced the ac/heater control unit (the main one in the center console above the radio) and it fixed it.

Maybe I'll try that if the noise starts getting on my nerves again. Thanks

Wasn't so much as the noise as the unit wasn't controlling the fan speed properly...

Blower motor, and don't buy a cheap one...trust me.

OK so I have had the same problem(s) for quite a while now, clicking from near the glove box and erratic heater/ac fan speed. Have replaced the resistor, no fix. any consensus on which of the two parts mentioned here will fix it (blower motor or control unit)? I really don't want to throw good money after bad since these parts aren't inexpensive...

I have replaced the heater/AC control unit in the center stack, and have had no issues with erratic fan speeds, or clicking noises from around the glove box since.

Interesting. Exactly what part did you replace ? Got any pics ? Cos my own noise is starting to get on my nerves again.

It's the control unit in the dash with the adjustment ***** for temperature fan speed and outlet selection.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I can't help feeling it's something else though. Much of the noise seems to be coming from the glove box area. There's no problem when you're driving on a smooth road, but once you hit a rough patch the rattling goes berserk. It's perplexed me for years now.

If it sounds more like a rattle than a relay clicking on and off rapidly, it may indeed be something else. If you purchase a new control unit they are quite expensive, but if you can get one used it should be less expensive should you decide to go that route.
