Fuel Door won't pop up
Hey everyone, I've posted a proper intro but wanted to keep the below question separate:
My fuel door won't pop open on its own. The locking mechanism is working fine but the actual spring loaded cylinder (if that's what it is) that pops in and out seems to not be in contact with the fuel door. Specifically, it pops in and out fine when I get the door open (using a key to pop it up) and push on it, but when I press on the closed fuel door it seems like it doesn't have enough movement or is maybe missing a piece that is suppose to contact the spring mechanism.
Again, there is no issue with the lock/unlock its just the popping mechanism. Can someone take a picture inside the fuel door so I can see if I'm missing a piece on the pop up cylinder causing it not to be the proper length OR if there's a simple solution I'm all ears!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Pushing it down either extends it or locks it down.

The rubber button on the center left in the photo is just under flush with the fender when extended and about 1/2" below flush when depressed and locked down.
Pushing it down either extends it or locks it down.

In all honesty, I can get it open very easily using one of those supermarket cards I have on my key chain, so I won't bother spending any money. At most I'll try gluing something on there, I'm just not sure if I should glue it on the popper or the inside of the fuel door.
