Default SLK/Crossfire trim compatability...

another dumb question here - is the SLK console holding the switch-gear, radio etc a direct swap for ours? Got to say it looks the same...

The piece will physically bolt to the dash, but since it's missing the main character line running down the center, the part will look all 6's and 7's...

On a side note, check out the awesome worn paint on the console near the seat belt buckle

The slk is very flat as well, as far as the ac/radio piece goes there are no angled edges, the holes for the AC dials are much larger. The hazard switch section is not curved so the xfire buttons would be popping out super far. The shift surround again is flat and does not have the same shape. I think the only way it could be done would be to find a way to replace the entire center console not just the trim and find a way to blend it into the crossfire dash where they would connect. The buttons and AC controls however can be used in the xfire. There are plenty of options if your looking to change the silver color of that's what you are looking to do.

you can remove the console easy enough. a couple of screws under the shifter cover and under the felt in back of the storage compartment. The hand brake cover pulls off hard and disconnect the wires. Then strip it with alcohol. I used alcohol soaked rags laid over the larger parts or if doing all problem parts you can allow the smaller parts to soak in a pan for a few hours. repeat as necessary. must be completely clean. I then re-dyed the parts with "forever black", I got it from performance products. it's been a couple of years now and they still looks like new.
