Default Center console covers

How do the covers actually come off? Are they press clips?

Thinking of taking them off and getting them sprayed/treated. Anyone done this, any ideas?

From the shifter forward, they pry off. I use a plastic spatula. With the shifter bezel off, remove 2 prilips screws holding the front of the main console, pull emergency brake sleeve off and remove 2 rear screws under carpet inside glove box.

Indeed, other people have done it

All Id like to do is to remove the silver covers themselves, not the entire console unit. If I've misunderstood you, apologies!

The silver on the rear section is integral. I presume you wont want to paint it while still in the car
