Interior fan speeds (confirming fix)
Sometimes when I set the fan speed to lets say 2 or 3, the fan motor sounds as if it goes higher like all the way to 5. If I wiggle the fan **** slightly or change to another setting and back, it will calm down back to the correct speed. I would suspect the actual switch but most people mention the Blower Motor Resistor failing and causing fan speed issues. Does that sound correct? Just wanted confirmation before I drop $126 on a resistor I bet no one wants returned...
Thanks!

( If you DO replace the unit, keep in mind that graphiteghost is trying very hard to get his hands on a defective unit )
There are several under $50 on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
Thanks. I'll at least take the assembly out and look at it.
My money is on the control assembly / switch.

I am also having trouble with my fan control. What's happening with me is; the fan either works, or it doesn't. To clarify, say I have the fan speed set on any speed, the fan wont work, and as a moment of time passes, the fan WILL come on at the proper speed selected. It almost seems like a loose connection. Has anyone experienced this type of scenario?

I've got this phenomena going on with my fan speed. What I've noticed is that this only occurs when I have the A/C on. When only using heat or ventilation, the fan speed seems to work OK. So I'm leaning towards an A/C problem (probably a sensor indicating low refrigerant level) which would switch off the fan/system. Once warm weather season comes back, I'll have the system checked. Might be low refrigerant; might be a bad sensor.
