Best way to clean the floor mats?
What would be the problem with putting the floor mats in the washing machine/dryer? Spilled an entire sweet raspberry tea on the driver's side today...
too many to list actually. use or rent a carpet cleaner, take them to a car wash and use the power washer there, carpet cleaner and a scrub brush.......you get the idea. do not put them in the washer and dryer.
If its the whole floor mat, you'll just have to rent the cleaner and go to it.
eeewwww! Ouch. If it was just a small amount 12 - 32 oz. it may not be so bad. The mats are not really the major item of concern here. Its the carpet itself. It depends on how much was spilled. The carpet's padding underneath has probably gotten a good soaking of sweet tea also. I had something like this happen in my truck (grand kids...mine was OJ) Rented a rug doctor machine from the ace hardware down the street. It took out the OJ, the stain and the smell. But you have to catch it quick before it dries into a huge dark carpet scab.
i recommend taking them to a .25 diy quarter operated hand wand car wash.
place them on the hook type wall rack... turn on the soap (high/strong pressure helps), start at the bottom and work your way up (so you don't dilute the dirt) and them flip them around doing the same and rinse from the top. i then use an small plastic winter ice scraper to squeegee the excess water out. toss them in a large trash bag for the ride home and set them out to dry for the night.
this is the cleanliest you can get them and its easy to do! enjoy!
...oh & skip the washer/dryer route... its hell on the rubber backing and will seperate the carpet/glue from the backing.

Some people have the same idea about cleaning the floor mat and put the mat in the washing machine which is resulted in spoiled the floor. The batter way to remove the floor mat from the car and clean it with brush gently. If you don't want to do this yourself then you can contact to the carpet cleaner.

This is the best way of cleaning the floor mat.

When I clean any of my cars mats I use this method. However I am one of those guys who has cheap floor mats on top of my good floor mats to keep the good floor mats clean. The factory floor mats in my 15 year old Cherokee and my wife's 9 year old Mazda 6 still look new because of this. I did not pay $100 dollars for factory Crossfire mats to let them get dirty. Yes, I am that ****.
I think putting the floor mats in the washing machine may spoiled it so the best recommendation is take it to the carpet cleaner which not only clean the mat effectively but also satisfactory cleaning.
