Default Headliner

Has anyone changed out the fabric headliner with a vinyl or suede headliner?

I ask as a local interior shop is telling me that it is to heavy and will make the liner board sag.

I can not attest to this but I have redone my headliner and experience tells me that suede, if it's light weight would be OK but vinyl, I would be wary of. Maybe if it is thin with a foam backing but the headliner is just a sheet of foam fiber board about 1/4 in thick and does not take a lot of abuse.

Thanks for you input. Below is the link to the vinyl I am looking at.

Red Perforated Headliner

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Yes, that should be OK. It's just the heavier stuff, not designed for headliners, that would not be a good choice.
