Default Help identifying this spring

Hi first post,

I was changing the cabin filter yesterday and when I unscrewed the plastic covering, this spring fell out. Does anyone know what its for?

Thanks also added some pics of the car.

Nice looking car.

I would GUESS it a return spring for one of the HVAC doors.

Good luck!

I agree, a guess it is a HVAC damper door spring. Finding out for sure will be a helluva challenge for sure. Good luck!

Find where the broken end of the spring is and you might see what it did.
I am going into that area today so maybe I'll find where it goes.

Thanks, I'm thinking its probably the defroster door.
Was playing with settings today I noticed the defroster air was weak and air was coming out the vents on all settings. So I manually closed the vents and defroster will works fine. I'll just deal with it probably alot easier to close the vents then actually fix it.

One must close the dash vents to really force air from the other outlets.

Just sayin'.....
