Default Cigarette Lighter Socket replacement question

I have tried to search and found threads that address the part numbers but I don't see any confirmed part numbers.

My cigarette lighter socket is bad. It's not the fuse, it's missing a contact at the bottom of the socket. So I would like to replace only that piece with a factory unit if possible. My preference is to use factory connectors if possible. I don't need the housing which includes the socket.

Has anyone replaced the socket only? It would seem so, they don't appear to be too durable based on the comments I have read.

If so, did you use some generic aftermarket version, or is there a MB version available?

Are OEM sockets available separately?

Part numbers would be helpful if available for the socket/housing assy vs the socket itself.

Now that I don't have it, I am starting to realize how dependent I am on this power source.

You can pick up an MB version at autohauz.com ,partsgeek.com or several others. Price ranging from 25 to 50 bucks. On these sites use a 2004 MB SLK320.

I do see one listed for SLK320. But the connector looks different than photos I have seen of the Crossfire lighter socket. Still confused

No I never really did get squared away. I have a number of things to do so it slipped to a lower priority. I ordered a replacement with pigtails from eBay. But that seems to be on a slow boat from China literally. So I haven't attempted the removal yet.

I did replace the 31 fuse and it seemed to work for a minute. But I believe there is a missing portion of the contact and what's left created a high resistance in the poor connection. So the fuse blew almost immediately after I plugged in a GPS.
