My 2005 had the Ashtray problem, PO stuck a small piece of wood along the top of the ashtray to keep it from popping out. I removed the wood and out it came. I was able to reach inside the Ashtray, palm up, and released the flat spring by pushing up on it. The Ashtray no longer popped out so I added a small **** from my local Ace Hardware. I can pull out the Ashtray and still access the coin storage. I was able to release the flat spring without removing any part of the center console or dash. I'm sure I will hear how I ruined the purity of my Crossfire.
