Question Cupholder Replacement/Improvised Fix

A minor inconvenience when I bought the car was that the only cupholder inside was broken; I didn't mind because I only use resealable bottles in the car. The replacement part is way too expensive in my opinion and I don't want to risk damaging other components around the cupholder. Some Ebay substitute cupholders don't look compatible with the Crossfire and I want to avoid unnecessary problems. Does anyone have a simple fix, such as making a cupholder out of clamps or using materials to make one from scratch that would fit into the cupholder slot? I understand this is an unusual request but I'd appreciate the feedback.

Thanks.

I ended up using an Audi TT cup holder and putting it between the seats. It's not an easy reach, but I am usually with my wife. This was not my idea I saw another user but he placed it on the passenger side of the center console.

Here's a link to a dual cup holder that I made. You would replace your broken one with the storage bin that you can get off e bay. I'm not selling it, just showing how you can build it.

Here's another alternative goes into the console : email Leonard Rynes rynes@icloud.com

Leonard Rynes still makes the cup holder. The cost is $55-$65 shipped depending on the one you want.

I used some flat aluminum and took the cup holder apart and used a screw through the bottom and drilled a hole in the flat aluminum. Then I lined up the dog leg of the aluminum and drilled the holes through the aluminum, the plastic cover into the bulkhead. Then I used a self-tapping screw to attach it to the bulkhead.

If you go this way make sure all the parts are there when you purchase one. I came across a lot that was missing pieces and the rubber at the bottom of the cup holder was cracked.

And don't forget, the fuel tank is behind that bulkhead.
