I saw a blue roadster in Ottawa today

 

Tonight while cruising on I-88 east around rte. 59 I had a black coupe come rolling up alongside me while rolling about 70mph.
We looked at each other and gave the thumbs up and the black coupe proceeded ahead of me and I sped up a bit to about 85 and got along side again and waved my CICCI card and my Forum card out the side window.

We both slowed gradually and pulled off far onto the shoulder of the tollway.
We got out and I gave him my CICCI card and a card I carry with this forum website link.

He said his name was Anthony and he lived in Schaumburg.
I told him about the forum and he proceeded to check out my car.

Damn! Picking up guys on the highway?

 

Hey guys, live in the frankfort area here. I work in Frankfort, finishing up school in Tinley Park and have seen an champaign colored XF in Tinley a couple times and a diffrent XF in Bradley/Bourbonnais. Mine is light blue, but with 115k it isnt at all in prestine condition hehe after i graduate i do plan on doing some restoration. just wear and tear kinda stuff with a little winter damage.

 

Something about black roadsters for sale around here lately. There was one for sale, private party, in Yorkville that I saw parked in an empty lot on 47 a couple of times. It's gone. I assume it sold.

Then, I was at Tyson Motors in Shorewood the other day, and they have a black roadster in their used car lot.

It seems a lot of the dealers I go to lately (and that would be a lot, because that's all I do all day - go to car dealers) have at least one XFire in their used inventory.

 

I live in Frankfort, and spend alot of time in the surrounding areas of tinley, orland, and mokena, Where about to you live/work? I can't say i've seen a light blue one around ever. I do see a graphite roadster identicle to mine going down wolf rd thru mokena and into frankfort every saturday night at about 12:30 am like clockwork. I hope i see you around sometime its always fun to meet someone else who loves these cars.

 

Tuesday night (late night, like 1 or 2 am), there was (what looked like) a silver limited coupe parked on the street on Clark, between Foster and possibly Carmen. It looked completely stock. My friend confused it for my black coupe when he was dropping me off at my car, which was parked a block closer to Foster. Anyone?

 

Last night, I saw two Xfires in Orland Park. The first one was a red roadster in the lot of Petey's II on 159th & LaGrange around 4:30 p.m. The second one was a red coupe in the parking lot of Marcus Theatre around 6:30 p.m..

 

this afternoon about 1pm i saw a black coupe in the left turn lane on 159th st waitingto turn into the walmart parkinglot in orland. i was turning right off 159th into the same lot, i gave a wave but dont think i was seen. Anybody?

Saw a black roadster on Wolf Road and 179th around 7 p.m.. I beeped and waved and they waved back. Anyone?

I would normally notice. My mind was elsewhere at that moment.

 

Spotted a red coupe driving East on 131st just past Archer Avenue today around 8 p.m... I was heading West on 131st street and almost missed seeing the crossfire since the sun was going down and it was in between several cars. I waved but not sure the driver saw me.

 

Saw the closest I've ever seen to a "beater" XFire today. Now I'm trying to remember where I was...

I think he was west bound on Caton Farm Road, in the left turn lane to head south on 59 in Plainfield. Black limited coupe. Grill was smashed up. I did my usual XFire wave, but I don't think he got it since I was on my bike.

 

Saw a black roadster tonight around 7:00 p.m. heading East on 131st at the corner of Wolf Road in Orland Park. There were two girls in the car, but I didn't get a chance to wave since I didn't see them until the last minute. Anyone?

 

A black Xfire roadster with 2 girls in it? Sounds like my kinda car!!!

 

Went to Autozone today just to have them check for any P codes (none). Pulled up in the lot, and there was an identical red coupe parked. It was "cody.koeller" who is a forum member, but hasn't been on much recently. He just got back from China, where he spent 9 months on business. He attended a GTG to Lake Geneva last year with us, and asked about other GTGs. He gave me his cell # to stay in touch. He's staying in the same complex as me in Huntley.

 

Saw a Silver Blue coupe today around 5:00pm heading East on I55 just past County Line Road.

 

Saw a black coupe heading West on Rt 83 about two blocks West of 104th Ave around 8:00 p.m.. I was heading East. Anyone?
