CCC - Drive on 03/21/2009?
Although we desperately need the snow/rain, we should take advantage of the 65-75 degree weather that we could have this Saturday. I don't care if we drive only sixty miles, I have cabin fever and "Debbie" is begging to be taken out for a drive and lunch. Any takers?
Hey Evan, did you get debbie out for the weekend? I would have loved to go but this is spring break and we left for San Antonio, via Carlsbad, NM and wont be back for a couple of weeks.
The wind is blowing about 40 miles an hour here in Carlsbad but should stop by tomorrow so we can move on down the road.
We just came back from Carlsbad Caverns, driving 65 MPH and a 60 foot mobile home pulled across the hwy. which wasn't bad, he had plenty of time but the pilot truck behind wasn't paying any attention didn't see me and pulled across right after him, in front of me. Mary yelled look out, I had two choices, since there was a break in the median at this intersection (without a light) to either take the wrong way on this 4 lane road or try to shoot the gap between the beginning of the median and the truck. I hit the brakes and my pick up went sideways through the gap, almost flipped, it must have fishtailed about four times down the road before I was able to get it back under control. That is the closest I've been to a major accident in years. If we had broadsided that truck I'm sure we would have killed his passenger and ruined our vacation. I almost wanted to go back and hunt that SOB down, but a cooler head prevailed.
I can't believe they were on the road with that mobile home in these high winds. My guess is they may find it on the side of the road on its side. What a bunch of idiots.
Drop me a line after you get back fron Tail of the Dragon and maybe we can set up a run on Tail of the Trout.

I did go for a limited drive around town and I did meet up with an old friend. Sorry to hear about your crazy experience on road there! I'm glad that you are OK. We experienced two flat tires in our RV near the Four Corners once and I don't care to repeat that at all. I'll ping you after I get back from the Dragon.
