CCC - Lunch and Drive?
Ok, let's shoot for Saturday. We can meet at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center (east side of the park) around 11:30. We can then drive up to Woodland Park and have lunch. There is a Mexican place there or we can hit the Sonic up there. Then we can drive back or do whatever we want after that.
Hi, good to see everyone is still around. We have already planned lunch on Saturday with another couple at 11:30. You guys go ahead but if Sunday happens to open up drop me a line.
We have had the Crossfire in Denver the last two weekends looking for a companion for our dog. Got caught in a snowstorm on the way home the first weekend. It at least gave me a reason to wash and wax the car. We may be up there again this wekend looking at a new litter that will be available.
Have fun and keep us in the loop.

Itsky I'll see ya at 11:30.
Blackberry - Good to hear from you! We have to do the Golden Super Cruise this summer and get some cruis'in time in. Good luck with the puppy pursuit!

Bat and I are looking into our availability.
One concern is what the road conditions are going to be like to get there.
Both of our toys are still sporting their summer rubber.
Oh, and does anyone have good directions to get there from Denver?
BC.

Well, I would think the roads should be clear. US-24 is a major route to the mountains. There may be a bit of sand here or there, but it won't be that an aggressive road. For folks coming from Denver, I'd be happy to meet up with anyone on the south side of Denver and we can drive down.
Basically, take I-25 south until you hit Garden of the Gods Rd. Head west until you get to 30th st. Then head south for about a mile. It will be on your left. Here is the Google maps link:
1805 North 30th Street, colorado springs, co - Google Maps

COtrip says its dry up there right now. I watched the local weather tonight - Teller county might see very few flakes tomorrow, but the highs up there for Thur-35, Fri-38, and Sat-44. I think we will be OK. Just go slow with the sand, and watch the north facing corners. Hope you guys can make it.

As long as the weather holds clear, we should be a go. Like Bladecutter said, we is still rolling on summer rubber and the summer rubber does not like ice and snow (doesn't care much for cold either). I was going to switch my tires back to the all seasons but I've been reluctant to cough up the $70 bucks to make the switch. And I hate those stupid Contis. Blech. I'm thinking I just need to save up for another set of rims and do the summer rims and winter rims like I do with the PT.
Anyhoo..
Itsky, my phone got wiped when we tried to reload the gmail account so I no longer have your number but hopefully you have mine still. Let's check in on Saturday morning.

Bat, Olamar, Bladecutter- It was great to meet you'all. Thanks for another great cruis'in day out in the Colorado sun—good new friends from Denver and a wonderful lunch!
Hey Bat it was so cute how that little yellow VW wanted to play catch with you guys on the way down (as he nearly rips your front end off with that lane change). Sorry the "old dog" didn't keep up with you. Your future speeding tickets are way above my pay grade.
We missed you Itsky (and Blackberry), hope you are feeling better. Here's a few pics from today, enjoy.

Lol, that VW...I might've let him be but when he forced his way between Olamar and me, it was time for some schoolin'! Notice how his turbo didn't do any good at all when it came to taking the curves.
) romp in the twisties. Itsky, you would've enjoyed that bit especially.Damned if I didn't have ANOTHER VW screw with me on I25 too. I guess our beautiful cars just puts them in a jealous rage or something, lol.
Here's a few more pics. Was hard to get pictures with that crazy bright sunshine, what a beautiful day though. Notice in the first pic that even the heavens aligned for our drive today...the contrails form our Crossfire "X" - wheee!

Its great to see these Colorado mountain roads being used and abused. lol I hope Mary and I will be able to make the next trip. We will have to make a trip to Bishops Castle again when the weather gets a little better. Mary and I are planning on driving to Brekenridge on the 30th or 31st to the snow carving festival but I think we will take the 4 wheel drive vehicle instead of the Crossfire. The weather would have to be perfect for me to drive the Crossfire up there.
We ended up in Westminister later in the day and brought home a new addition to our family. We bought a cute 8 week old Shih Tzu as a companion for our other dog.
We saw a grey SRT-6 convert. driving on the access road heading north around Castle Rock and we drove out of Denver with a black Carrera-s convert. What a beautiful car, we were running about 85-90 at one point then they pulled along side and got off the freeway around Castle Pines. I would love to own one, but totaly out of my league.
One of the school bus drivers at work belongs to the Colorado Springs Mopar Club and has been trying to get me to attend. He owns a '68 426 Roadrunner with 500 miles on it, also has a couple other Mopars in the basement of his house. He said the have an area for Crossfires in the club. They help put on the major car shows in town, along with the Corvette club etc. The are in the process of getting the big show at PPIR ready for this summer.
Thanks for sharing the great pics.

I lived in the Springs from 89 to 98. Those pics sure bring back memories. I miss living there. And, I really miss the great hefeweizen beer at the Phantom Canyon. Maybe someone could have one for me. LOL
I'll try to get over there soon. There are a lot of micros in town and I love hefe's.
Just drop us a note when you are coming and we will get you on some great roads.
Every state has great roads, we just have the mountains and altitude to go with them.

Hey Blackberry, I used to be a member of the Harley Owners Group when I lived there, and loved going on mountain rides. I would go to rallies around the state, and surrounding states as well. I really liked going on rides from the Springs to Southern Colorado along the Colorado river. I used to go rallies in Telluride and Ignacio(4 Corners) every year. Colorado is one of the favorite places that I have lived in. I am envious of all the fine micro breweries that you have there.
