Snow Day !!
My office was open as well. They definitely over reacted to this storm, with good reason though. Luckily I live pretty close to where I work so I didn't have one of the stupid long commutes during that Dec snow storm.

Lots of times at slow speeds or leaving a unplowed parking lot etc it feels as though I am running out of gas any ideas as to why?

Ya, some of the models you actually shut the switch off and it still activates. It sucks, I can't even spin them if I want. Although it is there for a reason. I know, having spun out a Corvette or 2 without the traction control on.
Thanks for telling me about this forum Nightrider. I just found this site yesterday and have been learning a ton. I don't have snow tires - but after reading about them I will probably get some for next winter. For now, I avoid driving when it snows and in case I get caught out I have the old rwd remedy of extra weight in the trunk (three 30 lb bags of cat litter) which helps. Can't wait until spring!
I found that when the road has some snow on it, and I can't get any traction, I take my foot off the gas, (I don't have an automatic) and the car just goes right along....(as soon as I try to give it gas, the traction control takes over and I get the same response.. like I'm out of gas). As soon as I'm up to a good speed, I'm on the gas and off. we go..

It's great when members spread the word to others and the forum continues to grow. Enjoy you Crossfire and now this excellent forum !!
Working tonight in Bozrah, a little town about 50 miles away. Might have some snow to contend with on the way home - at least I can try out the new snow tires...
Woo Hoo!!!

Hi everyone, this is my first post and first time as a member of a forum. I bought my XF 6-speed last June and it's a blast. I live in Vermont and for tires I have Nokian Hakkapalitta's on 18 inch rims from Tire Rack(the wheels not the tires). The Hakka's are fantastic, and with a bag of sand in the trunk I can even drive through the mound that the snowplow deposits in front of a side street. I've learned a lot from this forum, thanks for having it.

Anybody in Chicago in 1967 for the biggest snowstorm ever recorded
http://www.pbase.com/mohmike/1967snow
Severe snowstorms are relatively frequent in Chicago
Chicago's snowstorm of 1967 the snow started falling at 5:02 a.m. Thursday January 26.
Snow continued to fall through Friday morning for a total accumulation of 23 inches, with drifts to 6 feet.
Then in 1979....
The Blizzard of 1979 started on Friday night January 12 and lasted until 2 a.m. Sunday January 14. On top of a 7-10 inch base left over from a New Year's Eve blizzard, 20.3 inches of new snow fell--setting a record for total snow on the ground.
