I have had a constant problem with my OEM alarm going off for no (security) reason. Especially when there is an abrupt weather change (That never happens in New England).

It sounds at all hours day and night sometimes every 20 mins or so and other times will be normal for weeks. I live in a residential area, there are no electric garage door openners (What Falvey's of Norwich says causes it) in fact there are only 3 garages in range and they are manual doors.

Falveys examines the system leaving it in their repair bays...no weather changes. No codes no errors no false sounds. Bring it home, work. shopping and you guessed it. I have 2000 miles left on warranty and their technicians have not fixed it. How do I appeal to a higher Chyrsler power?

Who is Todd? between 4am and 4:45am this morning no wind, nothing alarm screaming. Nieghbor's love me. I was supposed to go on vacation next weekend...cancelled...think I'm going to park that $40K warrantyed car in a motel parking lot with a alarm trigerring all night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FALVEY of Norwich Conn does nothing to correct the problem...escept say they can't find any codes. 5:31am alarm screeching again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5:49......guess what.

Oh the door locks unlock themselves when driving and i close my door with keys out leaving the vehicle and at times they self lock.

Can they at least pull the wire off of the alarm? There is a thread here somewhere that changed it.

 

I pulled the fuse ...does no good. It is part of the BCM and totally integrated into the system. Damn good alarm when it works the way it should. Even the dealer doesn't know how to overide system.

I have no idea where the siren is. You don't want to hear my conversation with service mgr this morning and I'm normally laid back and mellow.

 

Did water get into the central locking mechanism causing corrison or a short? I remeber reading on here about a car locking and unlocking itself - That was the cause. Iis there any water in the back? Any leaks?

 

Funny part of this is I am a electrical designer of nuclear submarines (Electric Boat Groton CT)(electronics is a different animal) I spoke with one of the electronics engineers. He mentioned moisture on the wires to sensors. I read a similar (unsolved) problem from a Texas guy on the forum...another highly humid area. Of course little humidity in service areas esp left for 3 days in controlled environment. If and when this is trouble shot right I will let everyone know the answwr....where's the Car Talk Clik and Clak Tappett brothers when u need theml

 

Could very well be the BCM module itself, seems that they are causing quite a few problems lately.

 

Dealer just called me. Door lock switch was defective and replaced. Three visits to find that? Hope it is solved.

 

Hopefully that will solve the problems with the car, the driver, on the other hand, may require some hospitalization. As for your car troubles, I'm sorry that you got so frustrated. Next time this happens, you can refer to the many times it was documented that you were in for the same issues. Let me know if I can help.

Thanx C.T inspite of all our butt busting u are a friend I trust (except with my live stock) They disconnected the siren and replaced the doorlock. I am not to pleased about the siren but will handle that later.

 

How will you know if it works if they disconected it?

Seems kind of dumb that they wouldn't fix the switch and have you try it.

 

They didn't have the door switch in stock/ Believe me this is not the end of the story.
