Some of you may remember me talking about the raffling off of two 2008 Shelby GT 500's (505 hp, 6-speed manuals) plus another raffle for one of 5 Harley Davidson Motorcycles. These are two separate raffles. They are both $100 per ticket and only 2000 tickets will be sold (2000 tickets for the Shelby Raffle where you can win one of two Shelby GT 500 Cobra Mustangs; 2000 tickets for the Harley Davidson Raffle where you can win one of 5 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycles.)

I've copied a couple of pages from the flier announcing the raffle which is 20 pages long. To receive a flier in the mail, contact Bill Coulter at 508 820-2274. Bill is a Lieutenant in the Massachusetts State Police and will mail a flier to you upon your request. I would suggest contacting him right away because the tickets are going fast and the raffle is less than a month away. Tell Bill, Bob McKeon sent you and he'll get the flier right out to you. All the info about the charity and specs of the cars and MC's are in the flier but I would be happy to answer your questions as best I can, just post your questions here.

The raffle is one week from tomorrow. It will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008. There still are a few tickets available. The drawings will be held at the Mass State Police General Headquarters, 470 Worcester Road (Rte 9) in Framingham. Gates will open at 4:00 PM with the actual raffles at 7:00 PM. It will be a "Cruise Night" atmosphere with free hot dogs, soda and ice cold water. A DJ and a live blues band will be the entertainment. Everyone is encouraged to bring their classic cars, antique cars, muscle cars, and motorcycles.

I ended up as the MC of last nights raffles. The tickets were drawn one at a time by kids who were in the crowd. All the tickets were in sealed envelopes which I opened in front of the crowd. The winner's name was then announced. If they weren't present, and only one winner was, I would then call them at the cell phone number they provided. What a way to hear you won a new Harley or a Shelby!

P.S. My Yellow Roadster was the only Crossfire at the Cruise Night part. It certainly drew a lot of interest. Numerous people were asking questions and three people asked if they could sit in it to see how they fit. I'd bet there was at least one future Crossfire owner in the group.
