Default Took a few years.

When I first saw the crossfire back in 2004 it was the car I wanted, but at the time I wasn't long out of finishing high school and my income was short of being laughable. Fast forward about nine years and I almost forgot about the car I once considered the best thing on four wheels until I witness one drive by. After that I went into finding one to buy now that money wasn't holding me back.

After some weeks I found one I liked which was not sold it before I called. A 2004 coupe with just under 51k miles. The price was a little under 10k so I considered it a decent deal. The owner was an older lady that practically did nothing for it except the standard oil change. I already replaced the original air filters and cabin filter. The battery is the one that came with it so it's going on 9 years old. It still works but is it a good idea to go ahead and replace it?

I've lurked on that how-to board for so long I just about confused myself on where to start in replacing 9 year old parts that might go bad.

Welcome to the forum
Now go and get a new battery right away
These cars do very strange things with weak and/or dying batteries and 9 years is probably a record for an original still in use

Welcome to the forum and congrats on buying the car you always wanted! Most of us share your feelings. Where are you located? There are lots of good local groups that can help you and fun for GTG's.

Trust me. I am amazed the battery has lasted this long considering my other vehicle went through three of them in that same time period. I'll make sure to replace it as soon as I can, which will be tomorrow.

I'm located in Dothan, AL. So far I have spotted about six different crossfires in this town though I'm not sure if they live in town or just passing through headed to Panama City. You tend to notice them more often when you are actually looking around for them and not just waiting to get behind one at a red light.

Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome. I also was hooked back in 2004, and couldn't afford one at that time. I was finally able to afford one in 2011, I was lucky enough to find a low mileage Srt6. Get out an enjoy your new car.
