No Xfire Yet! Looking for one, plus your help and suggestions about these cars.
I'm a new member, also a 60's early 70's muscle car owner trying to get into this century with a modern muscle car such as a Crossfire SRT6. I have no interest in the newer Vettes, or Camaros, Mustangs, Porsches, Audi's etc. My cars include the following: two C2 Vettes a 64SB & 66BB & a 86 Vette Coupe, a 69 GTO RAIII & a 74 SD455 FB Formula. The 86 Vette, a 20K mile NCRS top flight car would be the first to go. Possibly as a trade or partial trade on a Crossfire SRT6. Right now I'm in the research stages, but would like to get one in the next 6 months. I really like this site and the SRT6 site. Looking for your help, suggestions & support. Thanks in advance!
What is your price range? I am thinking of selling both of mine. I too was an old muscle car guy. What does your '66 look like? Good luck...
Regarding Price: Depends on the car, SRT6 Coupe with low miles or "good go fast mods" probably $15k unless the miles were super low. A couple $K more for a vert. But I need to free up garage space, seven cars (including DD) is my limit. Any interest in the 86? I keep it in MI (not FL) as a summer driver. Where do you live?
We should talk. I have an exceptional SRT6 roadster available.
If you have a Jeep or Samurai we could talk partial trade. If you have a home down that way you want to get rid of I could include the SRT6 in deal.
The car is perfectly mannered and very quick.
Delivery free for a ticket back (if it ever thaws enough to get it out).

Hey if you are interested in a 2004 crossfire hardtop black with less than 20K miles on it and coming to VA to get it I have one I'd LOVE to get rid of. My husband bought it for me when I gave my Jeep Wrangler to my son when he turned 16 and I have to say not my cup of tea. Driven back and forth to the work and occasional grocery trips but that is it. Been garaged ALWAYS. At the moment the BAS light is on and I am taking it in to see what the problem is but I suspect (from reading everyone else's experience with this problem it is the brake switch. Otherwise fine condition. Make me an offer. I once had a Mercedes Diesel beater and I hated it and I have to say this is a true Mercedes. Guess I just am not a Mercedes person. Have serviced it, maintained it (my husband is a nut case with our cars) but just don't want it anymore. Time for me to get back to basics and a jeep wrangler again - what can I say.

I'd be interested in more details about your Xfire.
Thanks for responding! My 66 Vette coupe is pretty much as depicted in the caricature in my avatar, 66 Big Block L72, Rally Red, Red leather guts, 17 options. If you want a further list of options let me know, as the 66 isn't for sale or trade at this time. But, my 86 Vette coupe, 20.6 K miles, NCRS Top Flight (last June) Bright Red, AR9 red leather, AG9 Power Drivers Seat, AU3 Power Locks, C68 Elect. AC, K34 Cruise control, UU8 Delco Bose stereo, Z6A rear window & mirror defogger, and Z51 Performance Handling Package which includes: B4P Radiator Boost Fan, FG3 Delco Bilstein Shocks, KC4 Engine oil cooler, V01 HD radiator, G92 Performance axle ratio, Wider rims 9.5", HD suspension, Faster steering ratio. The window sticker shows that GM Tech Center in Warren MI. ordered this car and had it delivered to their Mesa AZ Proving Grounds. It may have been some kind of test vehicle, but I can not confirm this. It currently has a set of C5 rims with a set of BFG G-Force radials. The original Good Year P255/50-16 tires and stock rims go with the car.

Not sure if I'd be interested but my husband has always yearned for a corvette. Def not my cup of tea though. Sorry. I am more of a jeep girl. What would you like to know about this lovely crossfire? It is black, everything that came standard with the automatic.Sat on dealer lot for 2 years before we bought it with 8 miles on it. As I said driven very little. Did have some kind of leak but was fixed to the tune of over $600 at a dealership 3 years ago. Nothing since. Hardly driven at all since moving to Norfolk from Richmond. Just sits in the garage collecting dust. Put a new battery in last week in the cold because thought that crazy BAS light would go out but haven't been in it since but will get it out tomorrow and see what is going on with it. Honestly, I have really not liked the car since he gave it to me and just want to get rid of it. I think he is tired of my nagging so he said to just go ahead. Haven't put it up yet but sure it will go in this crazy military town but was looking on here to see if anyone else had the BAS problem and saw a thread where maybe someone would be interested in a purchase. We also have a Ford Excursion which my husband drives (I am but 5'2 so it is way too big for me - Excursion) but I'd like to finally have a car back where I can see out the back window LOL. He bought this for me as he had to give up his Z when we married and secretly I think he wanted another sports car. The inside is pristine and outside very good. We even trailered it from Philly to Norfolk (did a year stint in Philly where it was garaged 98% of the time) as public transit there is fine for me. Several here are selling in the 6's which I think is too high but as I said I really want this gone so I can move on and he can stop finding excuses to keep it. If you want more details or want to tell me what you are looking to spend let me know.

Late C3 & early C4 Corvettes are the lower priced entry to the Corvette Kingdom.
If your husband is interested in the 1986 Corvette have him contact me.
Each Labor Day I disconnect the battery and install a battery maintainer, then drive it into my zip up car bag & it stays in a garage in Metro Detroit area. Then I return to Tampa, then approximately the end of May I return and take it out of the car bag and drive it a few hundred miles during the summer, Various car shows, the Woodward Dream Cruise, etc. So the Vette is probably snowed in right now, but in approximately three months I will be repeating the sequence. Maybe we can work out a trade or something, but not til May! Can you wait that long?
No Jeep or Samari, my son has a Liberty. Any thing I'm looking at now (SRT hopfully) has to include the 86 Vette as part of a trade, primarly because of garage space and my seven car limit. If I can't make a trade deal I will have to sell the 86 Vette first. Tell me more about your SRT6, mileage, ownership & service history, mods, etc. I'm near Tampa nine months and Metro Detroit three months. If you live near Miami you know which months I'm out of Florida, lol. Where is tail of the dragon?
My home is in Tennessee. Only my heart remains in my Miami.
The Dragon: Deal's Gap, NC History.
SRT6 three human owners. Mileage upper 50's. No records from other owners. I met and interviewed the previous owner. As extremely fussy as I am (in example I just spent 9 months without a DD while I searched for one that would be acceptable) I felt comfortable with the care given the car. Represented as clean car fax. Another report shows it repo-ed at one time which I cannot verify or disprove. Wet three times in my ownership and never appears to have been wet prior to that. A couple of rock chips and a small scratch at fuel filler. Near perfect otherwise.
Modifications:
Eurocharged tune, 178 crank pulley with pulley saver kit
Needswings DCAI, Supercooler
Intercooler isolator, Ported teflon coated y-pipe
Petrol Fusion wheels, 18x8.5 on front and 19x10 on rear
Lamin-X protective film on headlights, taillights and corner lenses
Black powdercoated upper and lower grilles
Tinted windows, Black Alacantra shift boot
Momo Carbon Fiber shifter, SRT 6 emblems through out
All installed, tested and proven. All parts to return to pure stock including stock SRT6 wheels.
Many Photos: CrossfireForum.org - MiamiTVR's Albums
A deposit will hold. While I will deliver, if you are in this area and do not do the Dragon in this car you will forever regret it. More sweeping curves in 11 miles than in the state of Florida.
I am sorry but I would only be interested in a soft top Jeep, Suzuki or Land Rover in partial trade. I would be very interested in trading up on a Florida home, however.

I found mine on Craigslist between that and AutoTrader there are quite a few for sale in Florida.
Power is a bit different than a 427/425 and if you get the 6 speed it is a lot different from a Muncie. But the AC is nice.

Thanks for the info, I took a look at your pix, sweet ride! Have you ran 1/8 or 1/4 ? If so, best ET @ MPH. I'm just learning about pricing on the SRT's, so what do you think the ball park $ on you vert is, close to $20k??? I don't mean to be insulting if I'm off the $$$ mark! I know on some cars the mods hurt the resale price, is this true on the SRT's?? Good Luck. Hope you get back to Miami!
Mods add nothing to the value and may detract unless they happen to be the mods you yourself would add. If that is the case having them in place, sorted out and properly functioning would be worth more than the sum of them for most.
I have owned many performance cars, TVRs, AMXs, AUDIs, modified Jaguars, a Vette, a Lotus and a 440 Jensen Interceptor to name a few. None have equaled the balanced performance of this car for whatever that is worth.
Twenty would get you mine.... plus a cruise..... and some change.

I know what you mean about the 425 & Muncie difference. Probably fifteen years ago I wanted an 87 Grand National, so I answered an ad, and did a test drive. It was fast but when you like those M40 neck snaping kick in the but shifts that I was used to with my SD455. The GN just didn't measure up for me, but I would still like to have one. The GN's would beat me in the 1/4 mile because that little bit of turbo lag (I'm told) allowed then to hook up better. I had stock 2nd gen F Body suspension, so there was lots of smoke & horible 60ft times.
I didn't have my 427/425 running at the time but if I had, the situation would have been similar.
Which reminds me I've never even sat in an Xfire let alone drive one.
Maybe I won't like it! Anyone in the Tampa Bay area want to invite me over for a test drive. LOL.
Thanks for your comments.
The last time I ran the 1/4 was nearly 50 years ago. There are others here much more experienced and better qualified to comment on times. I am more about balance.

I just posted my 20K mile NCRS, 1986 Corvette coupe on the Corvette Forum, for $10k, or offers, or trade, up$ or down$ for Crossfire SRT6. Not available til June 2015.
Is that 70 Judge yours? If so tell us about it!
Earlier in this thread you asked "what does your '66 look like?" I just loaded some pix, with some extra eye candy! If you got time, check them out.
