I am in Ft Lauderdale sorry NO GM or any trade. for me as far as 50's and 60's cars (( the amx1397)) AMX, the car,, 1, owned the first amx ever produced. 397 = the number of AMX's I have owned, +a 68 ram rod,,hurst olds ,, 61 galaxy aluminum and about 100 others,, all used strip and street, which brings me to answer your request. I have a crossfire google it( world's fastest crossfire ) my current 1/4 mile time is 10.65 @ 130 so if you really want the best buy my car,, it really isn't for sale but you sound like you wast a fast STREET car. I will take 35,000.00 for it. just think you could come down, ( I know it is cold as hell in Tamps right now. so it would be a treat to go south, and pick up the fastest crossfire in the world. and again it would be a street car maybe running in the 9's,,,,, jim
P S with that money and add some too it I would build a faster crossfire ,, maybe a v12 twin turbo.

I'm not looking for anything on the level of yout Xfire. Just want to get into the "Xfire club" and get a nice 13 sec (prefer an SRT) ride that my wife will want to drive. She likes the look of the Xfire, as do I. She has only driven my, 86 Corvette and my 64, 327/300 Powerglide "Girly Vette". She has never even asked to drive my SD, GTO, or my L-72 BB Vette. So If I want to add another car without getting rid of the primo ones, get one that we both like.
I will take a look...lol. Both my black roadster and the blue coupe run high 11 quarters. Roadster 11.98, coupe 11.76.... I have a posi-trac rearend in both cars. This was built by a company in CA. Wavetrac. Other mods are listed in the sig. You stated you didn't like the grand national, and these cars are comparable. You may not like them. The MB side of it, makes shifting smooth, not harsh, and not when you want them to, but when they want to . It does have the option of the "slap" shifter, but it will shift at it's pace. They still are quick out of the hole. My best 60' was 1.76... Right now, I am looking for a way to change the coupes rear end gearing and TCU shift points, but that hasn't been perfected. So, you have a LOT of homework to do and read thru many of the threads. If you want to talk...just PM me and I will give you phone numbers. A handful of us have worked on modding these cars for the past 6-7 yrs.

Re. the GN, I also said "I'd still like to have one", plus I'm 15 years older now and the 60's stuff still gives me enough of a thrill. But I need to move on, and my wife needs a muscle car too. LOL. I'll PM you to talk about the rest of the stuff. I notice you are in IN. If you are close to I-75 maybe I could visit on my way to or from MI??? Up from Tampa in June back in Sept.
PS: Others reading this thread check out my 20.6k mile NCRS top flight 86 Corvette Coupe. Some pix in photo album. Available June 2015, Detroit area. Walking distance from the Woodward Dream Cruise. Wanted to trade for Crossfire! TTYL, Glen.
I love the '66 and the eye candy..... I think I would have to give up both XF's for that ride.... Good luck with your search and I will pass on your info to the FL group....later, nice chatting with you...back to plowing snow....
Doc. Very informative phone discussion about your SRT6, Thank You. Good luck with the snow!
I was at a car cruise today with my 66 Vette, where I saw a 2007 Crossfire NA Coupe with AT. A little old lady, probably close to 80, was the original owner, and had purchase it with just a few miles, as it was a dealer demonstrator. I asked if I could sit in it and get a familiar with the controls, she said yes. After I asked several questions about the car, she asked if I would like to take it for a drive and gave me the keys. I jokingly handed her my 66 Vette keys, as a security deposit, LOL! A nice driving car, even though I only took it around the block, a couple of miles. The cruise control stalk is easy to mistake for the turn signal control, but nothing I couldn't get used to. I had heard about this criticism and the lack of a tilt steering column. But, the telescoping column seems more than adequate. Rear visability is limited but much better when compared to a 63-67 Vette coupe. It had 55K miles, and the headliner was starting to fall down on the passenger side but outherwise a beautiful car. So that sums up my first Crossfire driving experience. I am starting to get the permagrin! So I am even more interested in getting one now. I mean.....for my wife, of course, I'm sure she will demand the SRT-6! Need to sell my 86 Vette coupe.

I purchased my 2006 Jaguar from one. She was a little biddy thing and in the 11,000 miles of use she put on it she managed to burn out the seat and pedal adjustment motors in full high/close positions.
Oh and I still hit the wrong stalk more often than the correct one. It can really wake you up when it engages the cruise unexpectedly just when you thought you were slowing down for a turn.

Glad you finally had a chance to drive one. When you get back up this way, hopefully we can let you drive a "handful" of car. Something like dropping the hammer on that BB. LOL
You have to watch out when buying cars from little old ladies.

Do you ever get up there for the Woodward Dream Cruise in August? I'll be right next to the fun, walking distance from Woodward!
If find that moving the passenger seat forward a ways (and more upright) makes the side/rear viability much better.

Yes I do....and I am planning on coming up this year... I have missed the last couple of years...
Thanks for the tip. That XF 8 way power seat must give a variety of adjustments to improve rear visability. My old 66 Vette has almost no seat movement, and you need a screw driver and wrench to adjust the seat back angle. Even a passenger side OSRV mirror wasn't a factory option in 1966, Although I added one, and four way flashers. Amazing how unsafe the cars were back then. I found out that the power windows will operate when the key is not even in the ignition. Children Beware!

By looking at the service manual schematics, it would appear that the fault must lie with the BCM ( Body Control Module ).
It has unswitched 12v at all times, so internally it must decide that if switched 12v is not present, then don't run the window motors.
That is not right. You should have to turn the key on.

O! Then excuse my ignorance.
I re-read it with that in mind and see what you mean.
I once had a '81 Mazda 626 that I re-wired so that the windows WOULD work without the key.
No kids ever in the car, I did it so I could run out of the office and quickly close the windows if it rained.
I always left it parked with the windows down ( 100 degree days in Atlanta )
