Yes, you are a good mechanic, that is if you DIY. From this forum, you can accomplish many projects an save big bucks. If not, you can search the forum an have a good understanding, as to what should be done to fix, your new ride. Congratulations an welcome to the forum.

An actual MECHANIC, in the old world sense? Yea, Chuk in Florida.

A "Crossfire Tech"? Well - I'm pretty good with the electronics and top. Many here and on our Facebook page are pretty good too. The car is a Mercedes SLK320 with a different body, try looking for shops that are known for honesty and Mercedes expertise.

I second the advice pizzaguy has given you. Where I'm located, there is an independent shop that specializes in German cars. They have probably more expertise servicing & repairing German car marques than the dealers do around here. Their reputation is stellar. Lots of "high dollar" cars can be seen parked out front waiting for pickup by owners. They are where I take my Crossfire (if it needs anything) and the 2006 VW New Beetle ragtop we own. (This independent shop diagnosed an issue on our VW in one afternoon that the local VW dealer couldn't identify with the car in that shop for 3 days!)

Congrats on your recent purchase and welcome to the forum.
