I would like to get him a new radio/sat nav with a screen if possible to replace the original cd player for xmas .
No idea where to start without asking him and I need it to be a surprise ... he can fit it but I want to buy it myself !!!
Due to appearance, most of us like the single-DIN Marine products from JVC, Kenwood and Clarion.
My car is an SE with aftermarket interior so I went with an RD660 JVC head - but that does not give you navigation.
I will be VERY surprised if you can find anything with Navigation worth buying. As far as CD, AM/FM, MP3, etc., those are easy. Many units even support a Satellite radio add-on.
Hopefully, someone will prove me wrong on the Navigation thing.....................
No guarantee, but the 'single DIN' radios have always physically fit.
You are aware that it will NOT be 'plug and play', right ?
You will need an adapter harness for the wiring, and an antenna converter thingey along with the keys for removing the OEM radio.

Of course, the AM and FM bands in the UK are different from what we have here. So for AM/FM radio use, an "American" version wont' be much help to you for listening to such broadcasts.

Unless there is a UK/EU programming option - which may be the case.
