Default New to the Crossfire - 2006 Coupe Base

Hello All,

I've recently joined the Crossfire ownership clan with my most recent purchase. Was looking for a fun weekend car that was unique. Previously I'd owned other Modern Classics such as E36 M3s, 1st Gen Miatas, Saab Turbos, MGB-GTs, etc, but always loved how the Crossfire looked. As I was without a sports car, I had been looking around and found an incredibly clean New Mexico owned 2006 Crossfire, one owner, that has....ready...1066 miles from new. Yes, One Thousand, Sixty Six miles total. It still had the original tires date coded 2605 (with nubs), sticker, etc. An older gentleman had purchased it back in 2007, drove it a bit, and them just didn't due to the other 20 odd cars. he had. So basically, I bought a new Crossfire. As you can expect, I had all of the fluids flushed, changed the tires, and battery. It drives like new. The only bad part was it was driven through a brush car was several times in it's life, and I'll need to spend a lot of time buffing out the paint and ceramic sealing it.

Additionally, the insurance on a Crossfire is incredibly cheap. State Farm considers it a "Modern Classic", and as a result a $10k fix value insurance policy is only $179 a half. Far cheaper than the M3 ever cost me.

When I get it polished, I'll post up some pictures. The plan is to leave it absolutely stock, drive it on Sunny weekends, and maybe a track day or two with autocross. The below photo is from where I drove it out to Discount Tire for some new shoes. Two of the original tires tore in half when pressure was place on them to break the bead, as they were hard as a rock.

Cheers,

Jim in Texas
