Hi! In April I bought this beauty and the seller had only one key fob. I drive it home and noticed the fob was cracked and had a crack in it causing it to not be solid. It shifted as though it was going to break. I ordered a new plastic case for it on eBay and switched it. It never worked again to start the car or anything. I have tried almost everything including having it towed to a repair dealership that has the computer for programming it. They said I needed a new one and it was ordered. It is “unavailable” and the repair shop says I cannot get a key for it and want me to sell it to a salvage yard. It’s hard for me to believe that if someone needs another key for there car that the only resolution is to scrap the car. Has anyone heard of this? Any ideas of what I can do? I am freaking out here as it’s my vehicle and now I will not have one?????

 

Did you transfer the tiny microchip is the front of the case by the key? It is less than1/4 " square. If you threw it away, contact SOS Diagnostics and they will tell you what you need to do to get new keys. They are actually less expensive than what dealers used to charge.

 

Hi! I think the card inside was complete with everything - I know a spring fell out that I had to find with a magnifying glass - which is why I replaced the case initially. I will look. I also will check into SOS. Thank you. I couldn’t believe they said to trash the car! With the exception of the fob nothing is wrong. I am so upset.
